Gwyneth, You could still get those stamp books here in the early 1980's. They were great. But they went by mid 80's. :( You can still get the stamps now though just not the books (in Aust anyway) Vonny |

Good thinking Gwynneth. That jolted my memory. Just saw on the calendar that tomorrow is Palm sunday - we used to have Palm toffee on that day. Teeth wouldn,t allow that any more, although i could probably suck it to death. Thanks Yyvonne for the JBUS words. Happy days |

Harry, Mau, 'Jesus bids us shine' is my favourite also. And I think the words are more appropriate today than with some of the others. *copied this cause I'm so slow in typing* Jesus bids us shine With a pure, clear light, Like a little candle Burning in the night. In this world of darkness So let us shine— You in your small corner, And I in mine. Jesus bids us shine, First of all for Him; Well He sees and knows it, If our light grows dim. He looks down from Heaven To see us shine— You in your small corner, And I in mine. Jesus bids us shine, Then, for all around; Many kinds of darkness In the world are found— Sin and want and sorrow; So we must shine— You in your small corner, And I in mine. |

Did anyone have a stamp book? If we attended regularly and remembered to learn a given verse from the Bible, the following week we were given a large picture stamp to stick into a printed mini album. I remember a record of attendance card too, marked with an asterisk pressed onto an ink pad. |

Oh yes I remember, every Sunday from the age of 5-15 when i became a Sunday school teacher until I married at 20. And I remembered the words and tunes, but Yvonne beat me to it. Ann Glos |

Jess, My children went to sunday school and then church, which was in a small village with a very old pump organ for the music! very boring for kids BUT every Sunday after church they could have 10cents to spend at the village shop :) Those were the days when 10cents was a lot of money!!!! (for kids) Vonny |

Wide, wide as the ocean High as the heavens above Deep, deep as the deepest sea Is my Saviour's love. I, though so unworthy Still am a child of His care. For His word teaches me That His love reaches me, Everywhere. |

Build on the Rock The rock that ever stands Build on the Rock But not upon the sands You need not fear the storm Or the earth's great shock You're safe for ever more if you Build on the Rock |

Sylvia, Remember them well - but not the full words. Magic memories. I have quoted before 'if you don,t go to sunday school, you,ll grow up to be bad'. We used to sing that along with 'Jesus bids us shine' etc. Happy days |
