Perhaps a little light in the darkness. No-one thus far has quoted 'addictivitis' to which all on suffer to a lesser or greater degree. Can be serious in extreme cases. Happy days |

Not an illness as such but I was run over when I was 6 and had my Spleen removed which means my immune systems is not so good and I have to get all sorts of vaccinations and boosters to make sure I don't catch anything too serious. |

I know what you mean Deb, my brain and fingers work in very strange ways sometimes. So glad your daughter thrived, how much did she weigh when she was born? My Zoe was 1 lb 10 oz but only lived for 3 days, and would be 32 now. |

yep almost 28 years ago, gave birth to premmie baby she was fine (she's a wonderful young lady now). But I went in to convulsions (pre-eclamsia hypertension) and lapsed into a coma for a 17 days went into renal and heart failure while in the comma. Much longer story to it but saving that for my book. |

Had pneumonia as a little girl - 3 years old and I remember having to sleep in a cot again, which had been brought downstairs by the fire, my parents took turns to sleep on the sofa at night to watch me. Had a younger brother too so it must have been a worry for my parents as dad had to work too I suppose. Wish I had asked more about it now - why don't we think of asking things when there is someone alive to answer. I have had precancerous cells removed years ago and then had to go back into hospital cos I got an infection and haemorraged. Have had kidney stones and been in hospital twice to sort those out. Now have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and hope I have nothing more serious than that in future. |

Hi Back in 1895, I had Erysipelas, in the face, whish started of like mumps, in the left side of the face. Prescribed antibiotics. This was on a Tuesday, by the Friday of the same week, the doctor was called out, as I took turn for worse, was admitted to hospital, and was in for a week. The left side of my face, became very red, eye closed, swelling all over the left side, and starting to go to the right side. Left ear lobe had a great scab, on the lower lobe bit, which fell of after 4 or 5 days. I do not remeber much about the trip to hospital, or much about the weekend, my temperature, apparntly was very high. Took me a couple of weeks after coming out of hospital, to feel anything like normal. Recently, (Last November) had a base cell carcinoma re,oved, from right lower eyelid. Went is as day patient, accorcding to the biopsy results, it was the (if its possible) - was the 'best' base cell carcinoma, to get - sow growing and once removed, no further treatment, but to keep an eye out for any odd looking spots now, and not to sit out in sun. Julie, that sounds awful. Give the doctor a ring, just to check gall stones would cause these symptoms |

I think I have one now! I am waiting for a scan on Thursday but my symptoms are getting worse. The Dr thinks its my gall bladder but the pain is no longer localised to that area and I am suffering with shortness of breath and raised blood pressure lol Ain't life grand!!! Julie xxx |

had an ectopic pregnancy 19yrs ago. It took three hospital admissions before they got the diagnosis correct. After op, I was in hospital for 10 days, they couldn't get my temperature down due to severe infection. I had an ovary and fallopian tube removed, but 18 months later I gave birth to a healthy daughter wihout any complications. Just glad they got it right in the end. |

I was talking to my parents last week. My dad told me that when I was a baby I was very seriously ill and almost died. Despite bad odds I managed to survive. I hadn't known that. I was surprised. |
