Guys, honestly we have done everything we can legally. We have had a solicitor on the case for a year - every time she writes to say you have had enough time to reinstate the hedge, we will have to go to court, he just writes another little note confusing the matter which means she then has to write back. Really, you would not believe what its like until you have to go through it (which I hope you never do). In theory, he does wrong, he either apologises and/or puts its right or we take him to court, we win and he has to put it right. Easy isnt it! It just doesnt work like that. We have dozens of photos of what he did to our garden. Our first solicitor actually came the next day and directed our photo taking and witnessed trees cut down. BUT, get this guys, our solicitor says, but if he says he didnt do it, you have no proof it was him. But you say, I spoke to the guy who was doing it for him. Ah, says the solicitor he could deny all knowledge of this man and just say it was a maniac who came in and started chopping down trees. Do you get my drift people? NOTHING is straight forward. The police have no interest whatsoever 'unless he actually physically assaults you or a member of your family'. He could stand on a roof looking at you all day and he would not be doing anything against the law - honest guys, I would never have believed how the good guys just cant do anything.

Heather. A friend of ours had this sort of problem and went to see her local MP about the attitude of the police not wanting to know anything, and of the various replies that she had from solicitor about 'they have to caught actually doing it' have you tried contacting yours? It may help you as it has helped my friend. I really feel so mcu for you going through this but don't let him win take it all the way. Look after yourself Love Maisie

In certain quarters people like him were 'sorted out' by local gangster families-they dont like unrest on their patch like that and bully the bullies.

Alter, if he had lived in Bermondsey - it wouldnt have happened - he would have been pooing himself to upset anyone with my family name. But those days have gone (sadly in some circumstances). Trish, dont want to make too much known - hoping to retire in 4 years and dont want to blight the house. As it goes, he may have gone by then and/or we can just put a vague - a hedge was damaged, its been sorted, statement on the legal questionnaire.
