Just back was the library eager to tuck into my dinner. Got my chicken salad, came up here and sat the plate on my desk. I take my coat off and log into my email. With that done, I commence to eat. Fork goes down, plate goes up and then joins the fork. Little did I realise that my plate was half on/half off and thus my dinner, including lettuce, tomato, potato salad, peppers, cucumber, sweet corn and the dollop of salad cream fall into my lap and to my feet below. Not one to be deterred such a trivial matter, I retrieved the aforesaid ingredients into my hands and place them back onto the plate. I located the chicken which escaped onto the carpet and set it down next to my green and red culinary mountain. Waste not want not, I shall let you know if I cough up a hairball. Bon appetite.
