Oh how naive of thee. The monks of Birkenhead in times of olde prepared the dish and sailed across the river of Mersey. Indeed, tis them that have created Scouse in food form.

Julia

Julia Report 8 May 2006 14:09

Sounds to me as though scouse is just irish stew (with or without the beetroot!) can you still eat scouse if you are from Birkenhead?

Georgette

Georgette Report 8 May 2006 14:08

And he's talking about pickled members - most unsavoury - tut!

Daniel

Daniel Report 8 May 2006 14:07

Oh stop with such tales of dribbling fancy. This talk of beetroot leaves one moist and their mouth also thus.

CATHKIN

CATHKIN Report 8 May 2006 14:06

Just make a blackcurrant jelly and put beetroot in it -ask Cook!!!! Ros

Unknown Report 8 May 2006 14:06

Raven Report 8 May 2006 14:06

Daniel

Daniel Report 8 May 2006 14:05

Aye, The beetroot and Daniel do share many traits, but the pickledness of the aforseaid members is not so.

Unknown

Unknown Report 8 May 2006 14:04

Tis you wots pickled love not the beetroot

Daniel

Daniel Report 8 May 2006 14:03

Tis pickled beetroot which Daniel converses forthwith. The mince is a most fine meat, suitable to grace only the most deserving palettes.

Raven

Raven Report 8 May 2006 14:03

Unknown Report 8 May 2006 14:01

CATHKIN Report 8 May 2006 13:55

Unknown Report 8 May 2006 13:54

Obviously in a Lord Longman mood today judging by his aciferous use of the English language......Ps I might have made aciferous up but it sounded good :-)

Daniel

Daniel Report 8 May 2006 13:52

Daniel chooses to ignore such culinary blasphemy. He also wishes to inform his people of Scouse. It is a stew of meat, carrot, onion and all sorts of vegetebles to numerous mention, simmered for several hours before being eaten, with beetroot.
