Jilly get off here and go onto crimestoppers website. You can report it on there and not mention your name so then when the little toerags get pulled by police they wont know its you and then people can't blame you. |

Jilly that is awful and very worrying for you ... do not know where you live but you talk of village and that is a worry ... one associates drugs more with cities and its suburbs ... personally think something should be said but if police are aware what more can one do i wonder ... take care xxx |

Jilly, I agree report it. The mother may be angry about it, I would prefer to be angry than seeing any child in the morgue. Heather x |

Teresa believe me the wine has just been opened!!! I can understand in a way the feelings of the mum wanting to keep the trust and respect of her son, but he is 9 years old for gods sake!!!! As much as I love all my babies and I sincerely hope that they would come home and tell me, its not just my kids at risk, its everyones in the village and I'm sorry but I would have explained all that to Elliot and called for a Police Officer to visit me at home the very same flipping evening!!!!! Seemingly, there is a whole load of parents now going to this meeting on Thursday and I will be one of them!! I beleive that the Police are going to be there as well and if they dont take it seriously or assure us that something will be done then I sure will be taking it further!! Apart from anything else...ok so the kids are minors, but the people they are getting it from are not!!! And if there is suspicion of 2 dealers here then why on earth are raids not being done on those houses to either find find something there and charge them or to eliminate them from the process??? I tell you i'm a pretty laid back person in most things but I wont stand for this virtually on my own pigging doorstep!!! |

OOOh Jilly, thats worrying. You go to that meeting, and tell them everything, you don't have to mention names, but you can certainly point the finger in the right direction. I have one question concerning the mother who feels she is protecting her children by saying nothing. Is it better to protect by saying nothing, or is it better to protect by exposing and removing the threat to her children? Now, have this glass of wine, you need it. |

What sort of parent lets a drug dealer roam the streets offering their child allsorts and NOT report it? Sorry but this MUST BE REPORTED asap. It doesn't matter if they are minors.... what matters is saving the life of 1 child who may just say YES!! Please call it in Jilly!! xx |

Had a phone call this evening from one of the mums from school with very disturbing news! She was telling me that one of the lads that Elliot plays with was offered drugs down at the wee park by a known group of troublemakers in our village. However, one of the names mentioned was one not normally associated with this bad crowd - but my son enjoys hanging out with him sometimes. Anyway, the lad who was offered the drugs had the presence of mind to decline the offer and go home to tell his mum. The mother has chosen to defend her sons right to anonymity and has not informed the police! Rumour has it that there 'may be' 2 possible dealers in the village - which has only just come to light - but no one is prepared to actually do anything about it. The lady who foned me has asked me to respect the mother and son rights of the lad in question which I have reluctantly agreed to do...But on speaking to another mother, she knew all about it too and I havent promised her anything. In fact she agrees with me that something should be getting done about this. I've now had a wee word with my own son and he's heard a few things kicking around at school and at the end of the day, he is my number one priority as are my girls. There is apparently a community council meeting on Thursday night to which I'm going to go to and see what transpires there. Meanwhile I've just laid down the law to Elliot and told him in no uncertain terms to stay away from 2 lads who's names have been brought up in convo. I'm absolutely livid that the original mum has chosen not to do anything about it really, but I'm more livid about the fact that although the Police do actually know of this group of kids around here, they are saying that nothing can be done as they are minors.... In a wee village here and the rabble are getting away with this.... its absolutely unbelievable!!!! |
