Hi Rebs, (Good to see you back :-) ) We all have our opinions about what abuse is but what we think doesn't really matter. It's GR who decide. I've been told they do not automatically remove reported threads if they think they are OK. (by someone who reported a thread but was told by GC they thought it was OK) I report personal abuse or attacks on individuals, for reasons I made clear a while ago. I don't report jokes or 'funny' threads. If I don't think they are funny I don't read on. Gwynne

Hi Trish, I agree, there are people that enjoy causing trouble, They start up a thgread, then sit back to see how much trouble they have caused. I just let them get on with it, we dont have to join in. June xx

Why would you feel that way David. And I may seem daft asking this, but what constitutes an abusive thread? By what definition can something be deemed abusive? To me, it's a thread which is vindictive, malicious or is a deliberate personal attack towards person(s) using the boards. Others have different views on the definition of abuse, and herein is where the problem lies. It really comes down to respect by all parties. Respect for the individuals whose views and opinions may be different from the majority. And respect by those said individuals for the opinions and rights of the majority. There is never going to be a clear winner here.

Morning David, yes, perhaps we should report these troublemakers more often. Is there a 24 hour service from GR for this though? I've seen a few threads that I would swipe off the board immediately as it's obvious what they're doing.

Morning Gwynne, I think you're right, some people do want the gen board removed for some reason - perhaps it's too popular!!! I guess if that does ever happen then I'll just stop using this site as I like the light relief it gives. Wish more people would stop replying to these stupid threads so that they would just drop off the board quickly. I've been a member almost from the start and it used to be great, you could have a real laugh without getting smutty, and a good debate where people didn't get the hump just because you had a different opinion to them. Now there's a group of moaning minnies out to cause trouble.

Hi Trish, Thing is GR don't really care. If it gets too bad they'll just shut down the board, which, I suspect, is what some people want. I've added my feelings to David's thread but I do think that maybe we should just ignore threads that seem out to cause trouble. I do try to but sometimes I can't. I've had disagreements (usually political) with lots of people on here over the years but these have always been civilised and have never got personal. I've never had any nasty pms and only one person (a relative newcomer) has ever been nasty to me on the boards. So I stay away from that person. Gwynne

that there are several people on this board who are all set to cause trouble. One little problem and they come on night after night to start another thread about it (even if they do start on a slightly different subject it always comes back to the same thing). They are ruining this board for the rest of us. I have one question - why can't they just be thrown off? It's obvious (even to me who goes around in a world of my own) who the troublemakers are, so surely GR knows what's going on. No apologies from me about this thread as it will only upset the troublemakers.
