Joan I am sorry to hear of your loss and believe I know how you feel, having myself lost several dear ones. Based on my own experiences, I am convinced that consciousnes survives death and I am not religious. There are two threads in which I have set out my views in detail: My thread 'Ghosts in the head - or bats in the belfrey' and Tracy Blackburn's thread 'Life after death - How many believe' You might care to have a look at these to see if they make sense to you. Regards len

I'm gonna be bold enough to say that I firmly believe in the Heaven described in the Bible, where there is no more suffering, no more pain, no more sickness, no more tears!! And where we will get new heavenly bodies that do not decay! Read Revelation 21 and be encouraged, death was never meant to be the end! Denise

Sorry Joan, wish I could help, but in the same boat at present, normally my faith would help me, I cannot even turn to that at the moment. It will come back, I know, but at times it is very very hard to believe.....

To all of you losing dear ones, my sympathies. I am not a religious person, and I do not have a name for the place, but I know from an obscure message that my mother sent me through a Medium at a Spiritualist meeting, that life does not end when we die. I was told by one Medium (and I cannot recall who) that after we have died, all our pains and problems disappear and we are whole again. Take comfort in this thought and in the fact that we meet our loved ones again at that time.

That comforts me Liz - to think that my Dad is at last out of pain...

I do not want to offer my views on the question but hope these words are of comfort 'Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep I am a thousand winds that blow I am the diamond glints of snow I am the sun on ripened grain I am the gentle autumn rain When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight I am the soft starlight at night Do not stand at my grave and cry I am not there, I did not die' (((hugs))) Ken xx

I believe that all who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour will go to be with Him when they die. Sounds like heaven to me !
