Oh Lucia, Lucia sweetheart, this sounds so familiar, it's also going on in our household! Our daughter (16 next week) has said the self-same thing to us (about attitude), but in her case she's admitted she goes into big moods for no reason. Not necessarily saying that goes for you too, but Shauna's age does come into it a lot. Take care, and keep us posted, eh. x

Night night - take care and if your mum is menopausal - give your poor dad a thought - he has two of you with hormones flying. Ann

Thank God I had my daughter when I was 20 - I could not have coped with her teenage years and the menopause - I would have done time!!!!!!! Ann

Luciacw Report 14 Jun 2006 23:59

Thanks Lesleyx it could have something to do with hormones but it might not.I've not always had so much confidence and I'm always so sensitive that I surprise myself. I used to be horrid when I was 13 but I've passed that point now.

Talk to your friend then - just a thought could your mum be heading for the menopause?? Is she in that age bracket? Ann

Lucia - what about your friends - I am sure if you talk to them you will find they have the same problems and might make you feel better. Ann

Lesley, well that's what I meant. I was just reading things wrong I guess. Christine, I don't see any of my other relatives, only about once a year, so I don't feel particulary close to them. I'll try to discuss things with them but I'm too shy and I know I have to get over that. Thank you very muchx

Honey do not think it is all your fault - hormones/exams all play a part. Ann

Lucia...it's not necessarily you dear. Parents can be wrong too.

Luciacw Report 14 Jun 2006 23:40

Lucia - being a teenager is not easy but neither is being a parent. However - communication is the name of the game - listening and talking to each other - is there anyone - a g.parent/aunt/uncle who could act as mediator? Ann

Lucia, children don't come with an instruction manual, nor do parents, we have to do the best we can. I know you feel restricted now, but believe me, when you get out into the big wide world, it isn't as easy as it seems now. I'm sure your parents are only doing what they feel is right for you, even though you feel they are going against you. Like someone else said, parents have feelings too. I think you should all sit down and not just TALK to each other, but do some listening too.
