Hi all, What do you think about on the issue of smacking your child ? I have a 13 year old daughter who I have tried to punish her by taking her phone, pocket money banning her from certain friends and nothing worked in the end I had to go looking for here at 11p.m the other night and the fact that she was with a 17 year old lad aswell didn't help. I did slap her across the cheek, I didn't mean to and I have not smacked my kids since they were young (Not really smacking just taps accross the hand). Well anyway she is now telling her friends that I beat her up and school rang me yesterday with a warning that you are not supposed to smack your kids and he was writing a report for social services. Well I blew my top and told him I don't beat my kids up yes I did slap her face and if she continued that nasty attitude with me I will clap her again. I was so angry, But I tell you something her back chatting stopped just like that and she seems alot calmer at the moment. Crystal.x UPDATED... Well after a long and serious chat with my daughter we have sorted it out and had the tears and hugs as you do but she has said she didn't mean to make me look like I beat her she was just angry because I took her goodies off her (cheeky goat) She has explained her attitude and its the fact that she doesn't know how to deal with her friends problems so I will have to take her away from that situation so hopefully fingers crossed we can live happily ever after (hopefully anyway).
