Many thanks for organizing the meet Ann, it was nice to see people from last year and to meet new ones. A particular hello to Jojo, Howie, Val, Carol, Rod Gee and Catherine since this was the first time that I had met them. We left earlish since Rod was wacked after a hard week but still both enjoyed ourselves. Thanks again Jeanie |

Now that I have had a little rest I suppose I will have to come clean on the days events!! Arriving at the venue at 10.30 with Val from West Wirral, we waited for the arrival of everyone else.. Of course people started to arrive and were quickly made welcome by those that were there, and tables started to fill.Coffee turned to glasses of wine and so on... Most members were there before 12 noon and we had the minutes silence for June followed by the reading of a poem by Carol of Rochester New York and a few words from me for our friend June. More arrivals with apologies for being late which was unavoidable by them. Next was Sandra from Bolton's birthday surprise of a present of wine and choccies and us lot singing 'Happy Birthday'. People ordered lunch as they wished and I handed raffle tickets out. Prizes won were... bottle of Brandy, one of vodka, wine, smellies, concertina case -file, Chester Tea towel and a teabag plate.....just a few little things that made the afternoon a bit brighter. Drinks were flowing and everyone chatted endlessly. Lemon brought a Birthday Cake for Daniel and we all had a piece of it after he with Sandra help cut it.... another chance to sing 'Happy Birthday'... by this time we were all in good voice...lol... Of course yours truly can't sit still for long so ended up outside leaning up against a pole holding the awning up..... I do think someone has mistaken this for poledancing... but the piccies may seem as though I was... errr hum!! Everyone had a great day with lots of chatter, loads of laughs and wonderful people made this a day to remember!! Thankyou all for coming and look forward to next years meet... Anne xxx |

Hi guys... am still recovering from a wonderful day. I am sure everyone will find out about the 'poledancing' when they no doubt add pics of it.... my disguise as a demure lady is squashed now!!!! The meet obviousy started with a tribute to June and a few tears were shed.... But then we did as she would have wanted and had a fantastic day... There were 32 people at the meet and you were all great company... Congratulations to those who won raffle prizes... just a little memory of your day here in Chester from me!! Some of us are meeting for lunch today to finish off what has been a smashing weekend.. Thankyou all for coming... 'Poledancing' Honey Rum!!! xxx |
