Caz how can you forget German Shepherd LOL. My daughter has a shepherd x lab. We call him the dog from hell. Lovely natured till you try to take anything he has pinched off him then you have to swop he is such a thief. He has the build of a lab and the colouring of a shepherd. My heinz is as the vet said a proper mix. She is the build of a whippet or small greyhound has the ears of a collie and her colouring is either greyhound, boxer or staffie ( brindle) we have only had her 3 weeks but she is such a little love as so well behaved. Up to now!!!. Love border collies too son has one he so handsome and loving.( the dog that is lol) Germaine x |

I've a 17 year old Jack Russel Terrier and a crossed American Cocker, vet says she's crossed with a Boarder collie, we all say she's crossed with a nutter, 'cos she's gorgeously looney, so my fave breed would have to be Mutleys Carol |

My neighbours have a Siberian Husky called Storm - what an absolutely gorgeous dog. Last week he jumped out of an upstairs window and now has a pot on his leg so I guess they are not that bright lol Jack x |

My favourite dogs are Dobermans, my daughter has a year old lad, he is gorgeous, there are pics of him on GC Next Gen, he wasn't well when the photos were taken but is so much better now, she is investing a girly Dobe in a couple of weeks and is going to use her for breeding. Gillie xx |

I've always like Gun Dogs - particularly Setters and Golden Retrievers - but since having a German Shepherd I have to add them to the list. The GSD's have such an undeserved reputation and I have been so surprised by mine - I had no experience of this breed at all when we got Storm, it was a breed that my Hubby wanted and it was his turn to choose (I chose my little Retriever) and he's not been what I expected at all - I actually expected a dog that would be good company for Bonnie (my Retriever) and that he is, but I expected him to be a little protective of her and me and to keep other dogs from pestering her, I thought they would run along together on walks and ignore other dogs. I was wrong - he's a very nervous dog and would actually need myself or Bonnie to back him up and sadly he was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia at the age of 4 months, so can't go running along either. But he has the most wonderful character - he is incredibly loyal and wants to be next to me 24/7 and he's just a big soft puppy really. My Golden Retriever, Bonnie, is a little Angel one minute and a stubborn little so and so the next, but I adore her and love the fact that she has her own opinions on what she should be doing. lol Sorry to rabbit on. lol Kaye x |

I've only ever had Shetland sheepdogs (Shelties) - they are a miniature 'Lassie'. My one now called Lucy is almost 13 yrs old now and gorgeous, but of course, I'm biased I suppose. Stella |

Paul - we love Border Collies - our 2nd favourite. If we hadn't been able to get a Sheltie that is what we would have gone for. Stella |

Stella, I'd never actually had a dog before, but we decided to get one (child substitute lol) and went to the local rescue centre.. didn't really know what we wanted... Lucy had arrived there a couple of days before, and as soon as we saw her we fell in love with her... lovely dog, lovely temperament (mostly, she can be a little snappy with other dogs sometimes). She's full of life, always wanting to play... and that the only trouble really, she pesters us all the time to play or take her for a walk... No rest for the wisked as they say. Paul |

Paul - Border Collies are full of life, probably because they are highly intelligent so require a lot of stimulation. She may need socialising with other dogs, we always take ours for walks over the fields where other dogs are, so she now has her own circle of doggie pals and is fine with other dogs. We have 4 Lucys over there - a really common name for dogs !! Stella |
