This is bringing back so many memories. I loved the ads, Mags. I was reading an article about bath time memories in a magazine and they showed some of the old ads in it Mention of schools and soap reminds me that back in the 60's our school had liquid soap in the washrooms. As young teenagers we liked to try and get away with wearing make up for school. The times we had to scrub it off with the liquid soap and paper towels. One girls parents complained as their daughter's skin came up in a nasty rash after using the soap, only to be told she shouldn't have worn make up!!! ;-))

Gillian - throw a couple of handfuls of bicarbonate of soda into a cool bath and lay in it for a while - works with chickenpox, perhaps it might work with bites! Mags xx

Usually buy Pearl for hand washing in the bathroom and shower gel otherwise. Liquid soap in the kitchen. Love the old adverts - they could almost claim anything. When you think about it ANY soap would banish B.O. if you used it often enough. I liked the Camay adverts (think it was Camay)...'How old is she?....24?.....25?.......NO - these children are HERS!' (gasp of amazement) - so she had kids before she was 20, what was the big deal? LOL Morning btw. Mags xx

It seems more and more people are using liquid soap these days, some of it claims to be antibacterial. What happened to just plain soap and water?? I remember Pears soap and my late Dad’s favourite, Lifebuoy. According to the adverts it stopped BO (body odour)
