I haven't caught the news yet today so hadn't heard about this, but I am disgusted - in fact that isn't a strong enough word. I'm sure the horse would have felt some pain and what about the shock of it - horse's are senstive animals and I would imagine this would have frightened him? It is cruel and disrespectful and he should be banned from ever going near a horse again - I just hope someone decides to take justice into their own hands for the horse one day! Kaye x

There was talk (on the news this morning) of the RSPCA getting involved. I hope they do. The jockey needs banning from ever working with animals again. Viv

Horses have delicate bones in their noses and this will have caused it some pain...........up to a 21 day ban they say is the punishment for this infringement.......I would like to put his helmet on, and give him a good one in the nose, see how he likes it........

Many jockeys just love winning and that's part of the problem.

Well it's the tip of the iceberg isn't it? Anyone who thinks racehorses are looked after liked well loved pets is in cloud cuckoo land! Same - no even worse for greyhounds!

He's lucky the horse didn't head-butt him back! I've known one or two that would do that, and it would have served the jockey right. Hopefully, even if the Jockey Club doesn't sanction him severely, trainers and owners will put the brakes on his career. I know I wouldn't have him riding my horse, no matter how successful a jockey he has been up to now.

apparently, the jockey club are likely to be lenient with him, just a few days ban. it's fifteen minutes since i saw it on television, and i'm still hopping mad, so if i don't want genes to suspend me, i had better go for a walk. bryan.

i read it just now in the paper bryan i was shocked and worse a vet said it actually wouldnt hurt the horse that much as their nose is strong, i bet the poor love was shocked, id love to headbutt that bloke on the nose, i hope they sack him ban him from ever riding again
