hi morydd,,,so they are real family names then,,,,,thats nice,,,, ours are thomas george,,bill, sarah,,catherine,,,elizabeth,,,owen,james,,,nothing unusual,gloria,cerys ,the old names,,,thats came down the line,,sarah ann is the most poplar one for the girls,, george owen... james mainly for the boys nothing unusual about our names..... jackie

My Dad had the glorious name Cecil Herbert Ellis Stimpson (surname Gilbert) We named our son Ellis Ferguson, not really after my Dad, but because we liked it. Since then, doing my tree, I've found that the name ELLIS goes way back on both sides of my family, so as you can imagine, I'm so glad to have unwittingly carried on the tradition! It's a bit spooky though to have chosen that name....... Allie x

hi allie,,,,my thats a mouth full,,,cecil herbert ellis stimpson,,,, but i surpose back then allie the kids where named after the parents and grandparents,,,,, but ellis is a nice name,,,,,and i agree it do sound spooky that ya choose that name to find it goes way back in ya family tree, an omen may be,,,,,,,, jackie

Unfortunately I can't find where the Stimpson bit came from (apart from his Mum who was Annie Constance STIMPSON Weedon!) Fascinating though, this name quest! Allie x
