Stenozz, I rarely post on the General Board, especially not on controversial threads, but having followed my ancestors' adventures I find it quite heartbreaking that people are so biased against present-day immigrants. The tabloids have a lot to answer for, I think.

Exactly, Wilde Child. Some of mine went to Australia from Ireland during the potato famine, others escaped from poverty in Kent and slums in Manchester. We also exported numerous convicts.

Holland are also refusing to take anyone who cannot speak Dutch as they just dont have the funds to teach them, and how do they expect to communicate with there people, we do need to shut the gates but will we, not till its to late as we always do. Lil

We are talking about Immigration not being racist at all, the fact is too many arriving, and we cannot cope we dont have the room and we dont have the funds, and yes as for tax payers money, there is a lot of free loaders which should of been addressed years ago but was'nt, hence the reason people think we are an easy target, Lil

I do agree with lots of what you have wrote, why should we loose our xmas's and so on, but when it comes to taxes I am not happy to pay for someone who has 10 kids on the state then thinks the world owns them a living....think I am going off the subject now..

i for one agree with that statement Steve There is good and bad in every race - and to give you an idea - my stepson is a bad one - a real bad one - been in prison 5 times - Across the road from my house is an indian takeaway - they happened to open the day before me and hubby got married 4 years ago - we had not spoken to these people by this time ... the day we got wed ..... they waited for us to come home from the evening reception - about three in the morning and presented me with a bouquet of flowers and a card. these people een watch my house for me at night time when hubby is working away!!!!! I'm not racist at all and say the same - let and let live -

I think.......we need to stop taking the free loaders on board , if people are willing to work and pay there taxes so be it, I respect every ones opinions....

not only that but they are building all these houses and apartments - but still using the same resources and still putting the flaming prices up!!!!!!!! How Rude????? I don't care what colour people are - black and white - they should bring back compulsory national service - not only will it make those who don't work pay taxes and make them feel what it is like to pay them - but it might bring back some respect into this country.
