Hi Elaine LOL - they did that with me too - each time I got my appt letter - then got a reminder 2 days later .............. It's really not so bad tho - and he kept stressing it's NOT cancer, but left untreated there is obviously a risk. You'll be fine and try not to let it spoil your christmas xx |

3rd UPDATE Been back this afternoon for my treatment - not too bad - more uncomfortable than anything, along with the anxiety of being kept waiting nearly an hour !!! Get more reults from today in 12 weeks - another of the 'usual' checks in 6 months, then another 6 months after that and then annual ones for the next TEN YEARS !!!!!!! Blimey ..... |

Thanks everyone....... Elaine - try not to worry - I decided not to worry until/unless I needed to - for me personally I suspect it's just changes that come with a certain age. |

Yes i've had this twice. two years in a row. It's just the same as having the smear test, only they take a bit away, usually by a device which is like a hot cheese wire. Depending on your age {childbearing} they might give it a bit of lazer as well. But please dont worry about it. You should feel nothing. |

Hi Ladies As I haven't been able to get at this thread - thought I would just update you on things. Had it done on 19/09 - and just as Zoe said - watched the whole show on the video screen, more out curiosity than anything - but HEY I have been on TV now lolol Anyway - had to have a biopsy taken (nasty local anesthetic stung a bit) ........... currently still awaiting results !! |

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH - I forgot this bit *guys - LOOK AWAY NOW**** when they take a closer look the consultant goes 'up there' with a video camera - and they offer you a choice of watching the telly seeing what they see do NOT watch it - it's the worst choice I ever made and I had them whizzing the telly away in seconds |
