McAnne is back! How are you? With the amount of arguing that eventually went on in that thread, it was probably preferable not to have your name mentioned lol. Seriously TJ, it took a while before we are recognised on the threads, I just barged my way into threads that I liked and asked people questions until they took notice lol. I'm normally the quiet type - honest!

TJ With respect - go back and read the thread again - then count up exactly how many posts actually answer the question - very few you'll see - now look at the rest of it and reconsider whether you really need to be upset at not getting a mention ??? Similar threads have been done before and were indeed successful and fun - but, not everyone got mentioned then and they are still around - well, most of them LOL

I neither added to the thread nor featured on it and I'm not in the least surprised that I didn't feature on it. If someone else had posted I may have done. Do I care? No. I think threads such as that are insidious and divisive as others have said. It would take more than not being popular with a particular group to make me leave. If that were so I would have quit a long time ago. I add to threads that interest me, when I have time. Sometimes I don't add because I don't have time. I post threads that are of interest to me and sometimes others add which is nice but I'd still post even if I was ignored. Although, I admit, I post a lot less than I used to. Gwynne

TJ There has been grief on here in the last few days- almost gang warfare- very nearly two tribes at war if muffy thread wasn't ''who like me then' in an attempt to gather everyone into ranks again, then i dont know what was. When there was kerfuffle on here about 10 weeks ago, when i was booted off , somewhere in the region of 100 folk got upset about it - and yet I only get one mention on that thread ( brave poster to admit they like me) It was nothing to do with reality.When the chips are down , you'll soon see who your friends are. Hi T.J.I often post threads that are Ignored, sometimes it just happens,dont feel bad about it,its not done on purpose.

Well well well. What can I say? I have people on here that will talk to me, and some people that wont......sometimes my threads have gone well, and others have gone down the pan. I have ruffled quite few feathers in my time, and I consider my self lucky to get a mention now and again, All I hope, is that I have not made any Permanent enemies.. Bob

No TJ I don't agree with you; it doesn't say it all. I've joined threads loads of times since Jan 2004 when I became a member. Sometimes my posting is acknowledged, sometimes not. It's probably happened to every member on here at some time or another. I really wouldn't worry about it. I don't. :-)

OMG!!! Is this thread for real or is it a wind up? If you post a thread and don't get more than X number of replys, it dosen't mean that people don't like you etc! I can't believe that people are that sensitive, this is Cyber world not real life fgs.

Tj Don't take it all personally i have just been to look at Muffy's thread. I am not there either. Doesn't mean I haven't got some nice friends on here. I often post and don't get many if any replies. And not many people ignore anyone on purpose just the way the day goes. Chin up not did you not read Dave B's reply. Take Care Germaine x

Its sad you feel that way Carol........I'm afraid Im thick skinned and it's all water off a ducks back to me. I help others here sometimes at my own expense , I recieve help when asked for, this is why I joined the site in the first place the rest is a bonus, ie: the support & fun . .... and then there is the off button to my computer. I agree with David - in real life we can feel that we are overlooked . I post threads very often they sink like the proverbial stones but there are also ones that go well - just like conversations in real life. If I felt THAT bothered about it I know where the off button is on my computer but it's supposed to be a bit of fun and yes it does have it's serious side - I have seen many people get alot of much needed support and long may that continue!!

TJ There is a thread called threadkillers have a look and you will see how many people post on the general board (and there are loads more) most of them havent been mentioned on the gr friends either. It doesnt mean that they are not liked on the general board or are purposely ignored. I post sometimes but dont expect to get any response at all! Please dont take it personally.

TJ I have just spotted this, I try to go through good morning ones first, I try to add as much as i can but know i have a lot of PMs I need to catch up on, more hours needed in the day! I'm sorry but I feel I have to speak out and say how silly ......... it's almost like throwing a tantrum. If everyone was to re act badly for not getting a mention then we'd have no one on the boards .... as for not re newing membership through it I can only say you'd be cutting your nose off to spite your face ..... It's true I don't add or place threads as much as I used to but I wouldn't miss out helping others find ancestors or have others halep me......... the laughs here and the support and those that think of others and not themselves PLUS you hopefully make contact with other researchers who are tracing same or similar branches/trees as yourself............ I've been a member for a fair few years - my name isn't mentioned there ( well I don't think it is - but then I couldn't be bothered to read the thread so really I guess I wouldn't know - but can honestly say I don't care either way) Much happiness debi

Hi TJ Just thought I would say hi, don’t give up you will find your own mates on here in time, and it will take time just let people get to know you better, I don’t post very often myself and get the same response but think that is my fault for not joining in more often. KC
