I was really looking forward to this, but was disappointed. Despite Sky breaking up continuously, I did pick up on the following: 1, The iron railings remained in tact, when they were taken to make ammunition (certainly in London they were). 2. People driving around in cars - when petrol was scarce. 3. She made a cake, where did she get the eggs, butter and sugar on rations? I was not in the war and don't know a lot about it, but the points above stand out to me. Maybe it was different in the North. |

Really enjoyed this, very thoing the war thought provoking, a change from seeing just the cheery way everyone was percieved to have 'coped', during the war years. The husband was the spite of my grandad, in looks, not manner! my grandparents married in 1942, this programme gave me a realistic feel of how things would have been for them. More of this, and less of that 'reality' rubbish!!! |

CAZ, I ENJOYED THE PROGRAMME, BUT I AM ALWAYS INTERESTED, IN THE LOCATIONS AS WELL. THE BEACH LOOKED WONDERFUL. EMPTY, NO CROWDS...MY TYPE OF BEACH. BORN IN CORNWALL NOW LIVE IN STICKS IN SOMERSET, MISS THE BEAUTIFUL BEACHES. ESPECIALLY THE NORTH CORNISH COAST. PIPS XX |

Hi Rox glad you put this up, I meant to but forgot, It is filmed in the town next to us, barrow in Furness, where I work. It is the diaries of Nella Last a housewife during WW2. We watched them filming on a sizzling day in July with big coats on! Should be very good. caz xxx |
