I too will light a candle at 11 a.m. this morning and take 2 minutes out of this day in silent contemplation of all those on GR who are suffering the loss of a loved one. My thoughts will also be with those who are enduring illness or anxiety. Thankyou Lems. Jean x. |

Hi Lems, It's a tradition in my Dad's family to light a candle and drink a toast to absent friends at 11am on Christmas Day. Many of Dad's family were fishermen and sailors so were often away from home on this day. When Dad was in the army and overseas in WW2 it's a tradition he maintained as we will today. It's a comfort to know that our extended family will all be thinking of each other at the same time. We always include those we have lost in the toast and this year I'll extend it to my friends here who have lost loved ones this year. Thinking of all those on GR who have known sorrow this year, and in particular my good friends, Gwyn and Mandy, for whom today is going to be very difficult. Gwynne |

Isn't this what christmas is all about. Everybody uniting in love and peace. Well done everybody. We dont have candles in the house because of the dangers for the young ones but if I can get access to the computer at 11 I will do a virtual candle also for all those that have lost family friends and members this year. Best wishes to you all at this emotional time of year GLoria |

Hiya Lems, I too will light a candle at 6am local time. As well as for all the above mentioned, I would also like to honour the memory of June from Preston and to let Gaynor know that she is in my thoughts this Christmas. |

What a very special thing to do, Lemon, I will be thinking of you all, and will light a candle in my heart for Jennifer and all those missing loved ones this Christmas time. Can't do it physically as I am spending the day with someone who is not sympathetic and caring in this way. Liz |

Oh Lemon that is so sweet of you I am in tears again now, & I promised myself I wouldn't, not on Christmas day. I will light one too, not just for my loss but for Jennifer's, June's daughter Gaynor & her family, Susan, Trish, Mandy, & Jean's & anyone else on here feeling the pain of seeing that empty seat this year.... Can I just say to everyone how wonderful Lemon is & has been to many of us this year, & how much we love & appreciate her. Joan xxxxxxxxxxxxx |
