I think if it were me T.W. I would go for the one they offered me now......especially if you are in pain.... the reason for this is that you cannot be sure of the one nearer home, or that they would not cancel it and put it back to a later date....

They say I will be in for about a week, so its certainly worth thinking about Yes the pain has got really bad this winter, on codeine most of the time now along with paracetamol and Ibuprofen, so shake me and I'll rattle. It will be nice to have it done for the spring, so I can go out for walks, which I'm really looking forward to.

If you do well you can be in and out of hospital inside of 5 days, if your pain is severe I'd go for it and be all sorted for when the nice weather comes along! Take care Carol x

I can have my hip replacement within 2 weeks if I go to a hospital miles away from here Hinchingbrook nr Cambridge. Now this will be easier for my mum to come and visit, but she will probably be the only person who will, as its too far for anyone else, and my OH can no longer drive. I was told that transport would be free there and back for me, so thats not a problem. Should I go for it or should a wait the extra couple of weeks for the local hospital. This is all about meeting targets by the way, they were very up front about it.
