Diana, sorry I didn't see this thread in time to do the honours to your Grandmother. I am glad your cousins were so welcoming and also that your uncle had you there for him. Hope you find lots of joy from the young people who have adopted you and see your Grandmother in them as they grow. Take care, enjoy your happy memories of your Grandmother and your Daddy. Liz |

Hi Diana, I have only just seen this thread. Although today was difficult for you, I am pleased that you managed to give your Grandma the send off that she deserved. She was one grand lady. ********Message from Diana to you all************** Thanks everyone. Spent all of the funeral comforting my uncle, who was probably finally mourning Daddy as well as Grandma..... he is profoundly deaf too so him and Daddy were best friends and he was with daddy the day before he died! It was a tough day as my siblings turned up surprising everyone as they hadn't seen Grandma since Daddy's funeral and we don't speak anymore as they have taken the Mother's side (she's the one with the money now) But the grand old bird got a great send off and I got a great welcome into 3 families (my cousins) and have been made to promise i will be auntie narna to the children they have! which as you can imagine made me smile! Its been emotonal but lovely and I thank you for your thoughts xx |
