I've watched some YouTube videos and was surprised how quiet they are....even on the high speed.....also they don't seem to use that much electricity :-D

Kath, I enjoyed that. My ancestors had East Parks farm which is nearby.

When you visit Brancepeth it is also worth taking a look at at Brandon’s church which is a few minutes walk (you don’t have to go back on the road). It is lovely inside - very light, but that is because vandals set fire to the old church. Some of my direct ancestors (Harland family) are buried there.

Not long back from helping with a cold buffet lunch following a concert at a church in town.
It was lovely and cool and so comfortable in that ancient building :-D

Outside it hit like an oven, although not so hot as in previous days.
It's 27 here today.

Got to rest my couple of brain cells ready to join my daughters on a quiz team this evening :-0

Yes, I found it interesting. They don't seem to be trying to change the castle into something it's not.

I think you can only go into four of the rooms on the open day, but it's free and there are other interesting places nearby so probably still worth a visit. My son has already asked me if I know what I want to do for my birthday and I couldn't really think of anything so this might just be the answer :-D

Joy - I've been past Brancepeth Castle but never been inside. I've just checked and they have one of their Open Days on my birthday in July so I might get Colin to take me up there to have a look round.

Very warm and sunny here today, too warm for getting veggies from Sparkles, but I was a brave little soldier and struggled on :-)

Beloved has 8 tommies out on the balcony, and they have gone barmy over the last few days. Each plant has 2 trusses each. So, result! :-D :-D

I wasted last year, Kath, but this year I was determined to get stuck into K’s greenhouse.

I have been into Sedgefield church with cousins, several years ago on an Open Heritage day. One of my great-grandmothers was baptised there so two cousins and I did the tour.

We also went to Brancepeth where ancestors had East Parks farm which has changed now but we did take a look into the Castle - worth looking out for the OH days, Kath. :-D

Seems to be a nice day again here although I haven't ventured out yet.

Joy - one of my friends who had never done any gardening until a couple of years ago when her husband died, is also really proud of her two tomato plants which this year are thriving. Last year she lost them all and doesn't know why :-S

Tonight we are going to Sedgefield church to hear a candle lit string trio playing Fleetwood Mac songs and we are having a meal out at the pub there beforehand. Something a bit different for me. I'm really looking forward to it. :-)

It’s taking more time to water all of my new plants but I haven’t killed anything yet!

Girls, I am really proud of my tomato plants, :-D I only have two but they are thriving.

Also, at last the front of my house looks better now that I have planted things in the previously weed-ridden pots. :-D
