I can’t eat chocolate so I don’t have the dilema ;-)

Kathleen, now and again is a treat.

I love chocolate and admit that a small amount is usually on my weekly shopping delivery list.

I'm afraid I have to disagree. I think everyone is entitled to spend their money on what they want to.

I have never bought cigarettes, alcohol, make-up, jewellry and I've never had a week's holiday in a hotel (even our honeymoon was only 5 days).

A bar of chocolate can give me as much pleasure as someone else gets from a holiday or a bottle of wine. If people are on a very limited buget even they deserve a bar of chocolate now and again otherwise the daily grind just becomes too much.

I heard about this on the radio and thought the same.

My weekly shop does not include chocolate unless its a treat. RR is in cuckoo land as baked beans can already be bought very cheaply as can own brand biscuits!

I still have a box of after eight mints, toffees and Thorntons chocolate from xmas.

Back in the day when kids were small and money was tight, no sweets were ever on the list far less biscuits.

Can I send you my address Gwyn. :-D :-D :-D :-D

I do like chocolate and wish I had some, but it is rarely in my shopping basket :-\
But never when I was short of cash. Only real essentials were bought,

Surely a treat?
I was shocked at the prices before last Christmas.

I do like chocolate, but have found that I can only eat a small amount of some brands or else I get a headache.
I still have gifts of an untouched Easter egg, a Mothering Sunday unopened box of chocolates and a full tub of Heros from Christmas time.

The Lindors didn't last so long ;-)

When did chocolate become a ‘staple’ food. Surely, for most people, chocolate is a treat.
