If the names and marriage are correct, there were 3 births in Exeter which you can find on the freebmd site as well as the subsequent marriages

Eldest - married in Exeter
Middle - married Mid Devon
Youngest - not seeing a marriage England/Wales in the Devon area

Try Electoral rolls on here - using the Search facility top right of page
Try 191
Try facebook etc

?? Births - St Thomas RD covers Exeter

Births Mar 1929 (>99%) (GRO shows Frederick Mark)
Denham Frederick M Baker St. Thomas 5b 63

Births Sep 1927 (>99%) (GRO shows Barbara Joyce)
Mudge Barbara J Harris Exeter 5b 85

Sadly there is a Death for a Barbara Joyce Denham in 2008 - Exeter RD

Her estate went to probate in Liverpool

FMP shows the death of a Frederick Denham b 1927 in 2007 Exeter.

GRO site probably shows as Fred Denham

Probate is in the name of Frederick Mark Denham also in Liverpool. A copy of the will may give names and addresses of relatives or at least the solicitor dealing.

Probate offices have nothing to do with the area someone died. ie Nottingham probate was often dealt with in Manchester.

There is a Facebook Page about Shoe Shops in Exeter in the 1980s.....someone says that her Mum and Aunty worked at Mansfield's Shoe Shop and asks 'Do you remember Barbara Denham and Ruth Mudge?'

Could Barbara Denham be the Barbara that you are looking for? :-)

Was Ruth a sister of Fred or related in another way?

Do you know in which road, Rose Cottage was?
If you knew that, old electoral lists or old telephone directory listings might help.

Sorry - Tomkins should read 'to find'.

Very unlikely that .anyone who knew them would spot this post or that someone living in Rose Cottage would now their surname as quite possibly the creent owners didn't buy their house from them.
How many Rose Cottages are there in Exeter? It might no longer be known by that name.

I think it is a thankless task unless you can come up with the surna,e yourselves.

I don’t see how anyone could help you. You say they have died so why are you looking for them?

If you had their surname you may be able Tomkins their deaths - but why?

Please can anyone help. We are looking for some Old and Dear friends in Exeter. He worked with Newspapers and She worked in Mansfield Shoe Shop for many years with her sister in law Ruth. We think he died in the 1990s and her early 2000. They were probably in their late 70s early 80s but really can't remember a Surname for them. My husband worked with her in the Shoe Shop for many years and She was our Daughter's Godmother, so we are not sure we even knew the Surname. We think they had a Son and Daughter. Please help if any one can. Thank You. Carol.
