There has been a lot recently about the resurgence of measles and tb, but cholera!

There are reports that an elderly man in Warwickshire has died of Cholera. The first in 125 years. He apparently had not been abroad.

We don’t want that coming back.

Not actually cholera, apparently - just "cholera-like". Thank goodness!

"The UKHSA has confirmed that an individual tested positive for a type of bacteria called Non-toxigenic Vibrio cholerae. This is a strain of bacteria, but it does not lead to the waterborne bacterial disease that killed more than 100,000 people in the UK during Victorian times. "

A very sad case, but thankfully not the toxic version.

Old diseases can still 'get us' - people still die from pneumonic/bubonic plague...
