Hi I have been sorting out various old paperwork and came across all the old statements for a mortgage on a house I no longer have an interest in. |

I assume you're talking about your marital home. Has the mortgage been paid in full? If so, then I think you only need to keep the final statement, as proof, in the unlikely event that it might be needed. |

The house went to my ex and i received a small settlement. i understand he took out another mortgage so the original that was in joint names was repaid outright. |

There's always the modern way, of scanning the papers then shredding all but say the first and last. |
