We do have Christmas Pudding(s) but not usually on Christmas Day. That is the day for a good old trifle :-D

Many years ago, whilst still in the UK we found a recipe for Christmas Puddings being cooked in the microwave rather than the four hour steaming normally required. Over the years we have developed the recipe to include more ingredients. The puddings can also be frozen.

Allan, we usually spent Christmas Day with born-and-bred Aussie friends (with Aussie parents and grandparents) when we were there and I was amazed to find that they did a typical British Xmas dinner. Even our next-door neighbours (in the first house we bought), also born and bred, one in Subiaco, which you will know, and in Victoria did a typical British Xmas dinner.

The only time it was not a Brit roast was with our South African friend.

There was no Xmas pud, though - always a pavlova which I prefer. :-D

When we first arrived in Oz we kept up with all the old traditions, including a roast meal on Christmas Day.

We soon learned the folly of doing that :-D

December's relatively mild temperatures are due to drop here in the coming week.

Christmas Day we are forecast 4 degrees, light snow and a breeze.

Some of your sunshine would be so welcome.!

Hot turkey dinner with all the trimmings will help keep us warm :-)

I always feel we turn a corner on 21st December and can start to look forward to brighter days ahead.

Well, here we are again. The longest day of 2025 and the temperatures are starting to climb. A top of 40c is forecast for Perth on Christmas Day. We will escape that here as our top temp is forecast to be 35c.

Cold ham and chicken, with salads, will be the order of the day :-)
