Well, just checked and our banknotes are printed in Essex - so why would they not print tangible id cards there? |

As I said earlier, tangible or electronic id cards, makes no difference but perhaps easier for hackers if you have an electronic id. |

According one of the newspapers much of the work on the digital I’d will be done in an Eastern European country - that’s secure then :-| |

I don't have a smartphone either, but as the first rollout is for working folk, I'm not holding my breath for the rollout to be completed for all. |

I loved the idea, put forward by someone, that ifyou don’t have a mobile you could have it on laptop or computer. I definately don’t fancy lugging one of those around ;-) |

According to today's newspaper there will be a paper id document available for those who don't have a suitable phone. I do have a smart phone, albeit an old one, but I don't want digital id on it for the same reason I won't put a banking app on it. It's easy to lose a phone and even when it's password protected a determined hacker would get in. |

I think Starmer panics too much and wants to appease too many people. Standing firm is not his style! |

I don't have a problem with carrying ID but do have a problem with it only being (proposed) as Digital only. |
