Afternoon tea was really good, thank you. It was slightly different to most round here in that there were more savoury items than usual :- four types of sandwich, small pork pies, mushroom and tomato quiche, fruit scone, cream and jam, a custard slice, iced sponge cake, and a strawberry tart. :-D <3

The strawberry tart was so good that we all bought some more to take home (along with a box of things we couldn't finish)

Just read back yesterday's posts about garden waste.

We have a collection every other week, except for a short break over Christmas / New Year.
First a bin (180 litres) has to be purchased from the council at a cost of £38.25

Collection is extra and at present is £61.70 for 1st April to 31st March.

Quite breezy when we went to supermarket about 15 miles away.

Daughter and I called into a garden centre and had coffee and cake.
In another part of the restaurant, 10 ladies were having afternoon tea together. We could see the spotless white tablecloths and the tiered cake stand from where we sat, but not the actual food items.
They seemed to be a happy crowd, so I guess the food was good :-)
