Well that is the end of a lazy day. I managed Tescos, but was glad to sit down after I got back. Monday night is always a to watching night as Mastermind, Only Connect and University Challenge are on straight after each other.

Well....result!

Just got a tel call this afternoon from the medical secretary. She had received a tel call from my GP and so they have given me 21st Nov for my Echo. Amazing what a tel call does!!

Still daylight here but heavy black clouds. We had a few heavy showers today but a massive rainbow.

Off to eat leftovers from the cheesy pie from yesterday with some baked beans yummy.

Good afternoon everyone.
Well it's a much better day here today, after a dry night the leaves have started to dry up nicely making it easier to sweep them up.
It's a nice dry today & bright but there is a chilly wind, but I have been out & cleared the leaves from the front path,the flagstones around the P shed & some from one side of the front garden.

Done quite a lot, I am now having a sit down with a cuppa but Ijust might go out again & lift the leaves from the other 1/2 of the front garden, that will then just leave the side area & the drive to be done another day.
No doubt though & will have to start all over again at the beginning once all the first lot have been swept up, LOL.

I hope you & hubby are feeling better Linda, a bit of "fresh" air might actually help !

Our flu jabs were about a month ago Florence, so it isn’t that. I am not that bad and we need some milk, so I will go out this afternoon

The post just came and we got our letters for the winter fuel allowance, £250 each this year.

Oh Linda, do you really need to go out? Can you manage a couple of days until you feel better otherwise it will set you back? Whatever this is and it sounds like flu has really knocked you both back.
Just a thought, did you both get flu jags recently? Its usually 10 days later when you may feel fluey after the jag.

I didnt sleep well either last night but not because Im unwell. I cant seem to get comfy as my left leg fidgets and i have to change position a lot. I think its always about 2am before i nod off and then wake at about 3am. I have been used to only sleeping for 4-5 hours for the last 20 years so guess I have got used to it.
Well its a gloomy day here and looking like the heavens are about to chuck it down. The wind is less but still breezy and daughter said its freezing cold brrrr.

Nothing special on today just usual tidying up after the weekend. A couple of emails to reply to and a letter to type.

Also waiting on a call from a sols with a new quote but so far noone has rang!

Darts is something w have never had an interest in. We don’t really watch much sport, just the England Rugby Union matches and some of the test cricket matches. We did watch quite a bit of the new format cricket matches which were on to this summer.

I took ages to get to sleep last night, so couldn’t be bothered to get up this morning. I feel generally achy, so won’t do much today apart from a trip to the supermarket. OH still doesn’t feel well either .

What a cracking semi final. i want Wright to win but both GB players eeeek

some of my younger family are the same JG. I think it is very sad that they don't choose appropriate cards to send. Cards are so personal. Texts and emails are the opposite.

Yes Florence we watch the darts as well . OH used to play darts for a local team . Nearly all the men in his family were dart players for their local pubs/clubs. In my family nobody played darts but were all avid readers . Strange how folk get together when they are very different. They say opposites attract and it did in our case.

Ann I used to make lots of cards as well but no longer do any at all. I still have craft stuff in a cupboard but stopped about the same time as covid hit . I used to make for a couple of friends who liked to send personalised cards but sadly they are no longer with us and I have a really small family that bother with cards at all. Most younger ones just send a text or message on fb.if they do that. lol.

Joan hope you and hubby managed to get your roast sorted and you enjoyed it.
Also hope the weather gets better so you can get a good nights sleep.

Joan, thats good that hubby can peel the veg for you and also makes him feel useful too. Im making cheese & potato pie for tea with breaded fish for me and sausages for daughter. We havent had this for awhile so looking forward to it.

Im ok to eat but the gum is still a little sore so have to be careful.

Right back to the darts!

Anyone else on here a fan of darts? Im sat on tender hooks watching the semi final and later the final of the European Championship. Its on ITV4 just now til 4pm and then again from 6pm.

Gosh AnnG, you do loads of cards, shame you dont have an outlet for charity ones but maybe something else will come along.

Florence, I make and send out about 80 Christmas cards, I also make all other cards I send out which adds up to a lot as I have quite a large family. I have been making cards for over 25 years now, This room is my craft room/office and is full of papercraft stuff. Up until about 6 months ago I used to make lots of cards that a friend in the village would sell for various charities. Sadly she died this year so, at the moment no outlet for charity cards.

Morning all.
Yet another awful day here. high winds & lashing rain all night & still going on, I'm going round in Zombie mode today having not had much sleep due to the wind & rain banging against the house.

I am trying to put together our Sunday roast at the moment (Chicken etc) but I'm not really in the mood for cooking, I would rather get back into bed & hibernate, lol.

What a lot of cards you have made Florence, I hope you manage to sell them.

Best get back to the kitchen & see whats what, thankfully my hubby will peel the tatties & carrots for me, just need to take them to his room, at least he can still manage to do that,just, a good job as well because my hands are not good when it comes to gripping the knife.

So sorry AnnG, I never noticed your post!!! Glad you are well and ok. How many xmas cards do you make? Do you make any other cards, ie blank or thankyou cards?

I counted them yesterday and we have 224 I think! If we sell half, I will be quite happy.

Morning everyone.

Its a very windy day here 40 mph and more so a strong gale really with showers.

We had no plans to be outside anyway so glad we are cosy indoors. I put my alarm clock back last night but still have 4 other clocks in various rooms on the wall that need changing! I don't bother with my cooker clock as I switch it off at the mains after I have finished cooking, same with the microwave.

I have some more wrapping to do later on and just putting the fayre boxes in order plus I washed 2 table cloths for the tables. One is xmas red with a runner, the other is a black linen one plus we have little lights to decorate.

So cant wait, I love these kinda of things. In my banking days, I could sell anything to customers as I am quite persuasive when i need to be lol. My manager said I was a Natural born Sales Woman :-D

Think today will be a gentle day, nothing to strenuous.
Linda are you sure you & hubby don't have Covid? It sounds like you have same symptoms? Either way, hope you feel better soon, its sounds awful.

Well I suppose I had better try and something productive else the day will be gone and wasted.

Well the sun is shining at the moment here and it is 12 degrees so quite pleasant.

Hope you and OH will soon be back to normal. I rarely go off food even when I have a cold. Just if I have a tummy upset I don't eat. I suppose we all deal with things our own way and I am pleased that he is feeling better.

Good morning, most of my clocks and watches change themselves Ann. There is just the microwave, cooker and the mantle clock in the lounge.

OH took himself to bed in the spare room after lunch yesterday, he always does that when he isn’t well. He doesn’t eat anything at all, something I find odd as I always feel hungry. He said he feels a bit better this morning and may get get up later. He just seems to have a heavy cold. I just feel short of breath and a headache, so am just taking it easy.

It looks grey and drizzly outside, so staying in is a good idea. I just saw the weather forecast and there is a lot more rain this week, sadly lots of flooding for some people

Good morning all, hope everyone remembered to put the clocks back last night or in the middle of the night if you wanted to be accurate. Mine were done before I went to bed.

It is a bit grey here and 8 degrees but then it is only 0755. I already have a load of bedding in as I have changed my bed I like to get that out of the way early in the gay.

Hope it is less windy for you Florence, and Joan as well.

A bit of clearing up in the garden to do, then I must get on with making my Christmas cards.

Bright and sunny but very chilly and windy here. I can see some very large black clouds on the horizon heading this way!

I did a small load of washing and daughter hung it out but well pegged lol Its almost dry so tumble wont be on long.

I have been working on a match from my DNA who is a 3rd cousin. We are both excited to work out the link as she is in the USA but we are researching a line and we hope we can work out our connection.

I took a curry out the freezer for my tea but have just realised no naan bread in the cupboards grrrr so shall have to make do with some crusty bread and basmati rice.

Linda, I hope you and hubby feel much better over the weekend and yes sounds like Esme passed the bug on to you. Not nice so just chill and leave your packing until you are over it.

Joan, you made a good decision in getting your guttering done, what a relief considering all the rain. Im sure your Cross stitch will be finished in no time.

I heard today one of my old haunts was flooded. Hastings shopping centre was evacuated and the streets under several feet of water and its on the seafront.

Well time I put the rice on and sorted the out the table etc.
