Its been a bright day here but when I ventured outside to put out seed in the bird feeders, I did get a brrrr shock. Crikey, really was very chilly and the wind quite biting.

However the storms have passed for now and all is calm!

I have made a vegetable lasagne today. Haven' made one for ages. Used up courgettes, mushrooms, onions etc. For the cheese sauce, I melt a tub of philly with garlic & herbs to put on the top. Here's hoping it will be tasty as I feel I need a decent hot meal.

The booster jabs have been going awhile. In a smaller place, people here got jabbed a lot quicker including the teenagers. However last night there were 17 cases again!

It would appear, that during the half term, families travelled to Inverness for the Mod(Gaelic singing comp) and have come back with the virus which is now spreading like wildfire.

Although its cold outside the temp indoors without heating in each room is around 22 degrees which is fab news, and i dont need to put on the heating so saving money.

Stay safe everyone

Another dry but chilly day.

Booster jabs booked for next week, not at the same place but not to far to go.

Still have bit to tidy in the garden but hope to do that over the weekend.

Florence I shall look at the games site as I like word and card games. Also like Mahjong as well.

Take care all.

Evening ladies. I slept for Scotland last night and didnt wake until 10.30 today!
Yes in a way, knowing now what is likely to be the problem has alleviated the worry that has been hanging over me the last 3 moths.

I have already adapted to doing things a bit differently and am managing in my own way. With the driving, i stopped because i took a terrible dizzy spell at the wheel & nearly crashed the car back in the summer.I still regularly have dizzy spells so sadly an automatic would not help.

I am 21 miles away from the town which is where the taxis are. Its £30 each way which on a couple of occasions I have done using my PIP as that is what its there for.

I chose to live in this area because its where i worked and know quite a few people. Its in a lovely setting 5 mins from the beach. Its quiet and unlike the town areas.

I shall stay positive and def keep posting on the various threads on here as yes keeps the mind busy.

I have found another games site as my reg one is closing down after all these years..King.com. But Arkadium is another site with free games like crosswords & my fav the daily jigsaw against the clock. That really taxes the brain.

Anyone else who likes word games etc take a look its a good pastime and stimulation for the brain.

Been a lovely afternoon here but very brrrr, im sure the snow isnt faraway!!

Thanks for all your good wishes and suggestions xx

Exactly what JustGinnie wrote.

Sometimes, just knowing what the problem actually is makes things just that little bit easier. I hope you are finding that.

JustGinnie Report 27 Oct 2021 15:29

So sorry to hear your news as others have said. You seem to have a positive outlook on life and that will hold you in good stead I'm sure. I know nothing about M/S so can only send you good wishes and good luck with your next scan.

Florence, I'm sorry to hear about the MS, but to add to Vera's post, OH's cousin was diagnosed in her 20's, and is still doing fine 40 years later. The MS attacks are occasional and she apparently feels "off" for a few days and is then OK again. She also suffers from heart problems (coincidence?) and they are far more trouble than the MS.

Regarding driving, like you, she stopped when she was diagnosed, then a couple of years later once she got the hang of how the MS behaved she took a driving test and got her licence back. I know she is on lots of medication, but don't know what, if any, is for the MS.

Take things easy and good luck with the scan. :-) :-)

Florence that was a shock for you to hear. I know you are a positive person, I admire you for that, but still a lot to take in. It is good that you have gradually been adapting your life around the problem with your leg Have you got a good taxi firm that you can rely on to replace using the car? Keep posting on here as that stimulates your brain to some extent. I am sorry to hear your news of course but I am confident that you will cope and still enjoy life in your nice new home.

Yes that is how Senua is pronounced not too much emphasis on the 'a' though. I actually googled and on one site could listen to the proununciation

Florence, I am sorry to read your news and can only imagine how you must feel, but still life has a lot of positives, so I hope you continue to enjoy many varied activities.

Sometimes, the uncertainty of dealing with the unknown is worse that the acknowledgement and adapting, when you have an explanation for all your symptoms.

Keep positive and enjoy doing what you can.

I haven’t posted on here before but I pop in from time to time for a read. I just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear your news Florence. Your brain must be all over the place at the moment so give yourself time to take it all in. Stay as positive as you can; you’re stronger than you think. We have two people in our family with MS! One on my side and one on OH’s. Both were diagnosed in their 30s and over the years have had to adapt but they have still enjoyed life. One is now 78 and the other 85.

Sending you a gentle ((((hug)))) <3

Good evening peeps. Well that was the day that was!
Was at the hospital this morning seeing the consultant surgeon where he gave me my results. He is almost sure I have MS. He showed me an image of my spine which shows a portion of the spinal cord without the protective sheath. So my nerves are exposed and the brain cant communicate hence the paralysis in my left leg.

To be absolutely 100 % sure, hes now referring me to a neurologist for further tests and a brain MRI scan.

It certainly explains all the dizzy spells and after the 2 strokes last July, there were small changes then in my brain but i wasnt able to lay flat for an MRI and so it was left!
I know one thing for sure, my driving days are over now for good. Thats one thing im struggling with but the dizzy turns make me unsafe to drive and they are random.
A lot to take in but the dr did say, i could remain as i am for many years before i got a whole lot worse. So if this is how i am to be ufn, i can cope as i have been with making a few changes.

Im trying to stay positive but its still a huge emotional shock to hear you have MS.

Ann lovely name and unusual. Is it pronounced Sen..you.ah(phonetically)? And they have given your name too, what a lovely thought.

AnninGlos Report 24 Oct 2021 14:33

dull damp and dismal here, not much wind 13 degrees so a bit chilly and a couple of heavy showers. I managed to get out between showers and spent about 20 minutes starting to cut down the large number of Michaelmas daisies. so that was a good start on that job. Hopefully we will have a dry day before the next garden in day in just over a week.

No new on the baby yet, contractions slow to start, that is the problem with being induced. Yes, I will let you know when baby arrives.

Florence61 Report 24 Oct 2021 13:23

Good afternoon peeps.
Last few days has been awful. Storm 9 and torrential rain, the noise got really annoying!!

Tesco order came at 8pm so wasnt too bad and nothing missing.

Just now the sun is shining but the calmness of the wind was short lived as it has blown up again.
Been wrapping up xmas presents so nearly all done ready for posting. having to reconsider a smaller xmas tree as the one we have is 5 ft and quite wide and the lounge is half the size of what we had before. So been looking online and some smaller ones.

Ann hope the baby arrives safely and mum ok. Im sure you will let us know when you have news.

Joan, thats the problem, always just pop in and soon enough £20 gone lol never fails but they do have nice things that are hard to resist.

Nothing heavy for food today. Leftover mackerel pate and salad i made yesterday, desperately need to lose weight!

Tel Drs Secretary at the hosp on Friday but she never tel back. Will have to try again tom as appointment is on Tuesday and need to know if results are back.

Nothing really new here just now, rather quiet and not seeing anyone, just me & daughter plodding along.

Take care all

Morning all, bit nippy here but a dry day.

Waiting for my shopping as well, mine from Iceland though.

Not much to do today well nothing newsworthy anyway just the H/W .

Waiting to be contacted for booster jab, our GP doesn't do them at his surgery so we had to go to a Vac. centre for 1 & 2. Not sure where we will go this time.

Ann hope you hear soon about the new baby.
