Bon Appetit Joan.

I bought a slow cooker a couple of weeks ago but i haven't used it yet.

I have never felt the need before because i work from home and if i want to cook anything slowly, i can.

But, tasting meals (Meat especially) that has been cooked in a slow cooker is just beautiful.........so i succumed and bought one.

I have had beans on toast today.

Poundland have those tiny tins of beans which are exactly the right size for one portion.

Did a steamed vege suet pudding on Friday. It was Quorn lamb style strips with a can of beer in it and was not too bad at all.

It was a bit overcooked, as were the veg and the rice pudding because I felt it more important that Fred get on with his domestic duties once the electric was hoist was repaired and we could get him out of bed than that the tea should be spot on.

Full traditional Sunday roast pork today with special request for Yorkshire puddings by the little ones, followed by homemade rhubarb pie & Custard.

The little ones have been here since Friday so the house is beginning to look like an explosion has taken place...... All hands to the deck fora quick tidy up before guests arrive.

Enjoy your lunch/dinner whatever you are having.

I'm having..........

Roast belly of pork....roast potatoes, parsnips and stuffing.........sprouts, cauliflower cheese, Swede, mushy peas, and a cupple of Aunt Bessie's.

Not forgetting mint sauce and lashings of gravy.

I was going to get some carrots but i don't think they will fit on the plate!

i did an online shop on Wed and bought a pack of 12 outdoor reared Pork chipolatas . Forgot I was going out for a ladies lunch yesterday with daughter, grandaughter and grt grandaughter

Hubby did his own lunch and used 4 chipolatas so we had 8 to use up. I get a bit paranoid on use by dates so we had them today with new potatoes, cauliflower and chantonay carrots and onion done in the oven with the chipolatas .

Had a cheese sauce over the veg and it was bloody gorgeous .

Washed it down with a bottle of Merlot between us :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

I'm going over to my allotment soon and a fellow plotter is going to be there with a flask of soup to share with me (pumpkin, butternut squash, carrot, onions, garlic and sweet potato.)
