Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 9 Nov 2013 03:39

O.h. and I watched, it brought back lots of memories. O.h.'s dad and late Mum used to play lots of Elvis records apparently so they stirred up emotions for him and of course I being older than he is by more than 6 yrs can remember going out dancing to Elvis' music.

Sad that he and Priscilla didn't last, they obviously still cared deeply for each other.

Wouldnt call myself a great Elvis fan but used to love his films as a child and can easily listen to his music and we watched last night :-D

I wasn't a great fan either Hayley, although, being my era I absorbed the music and liked it and him, didn't go mad over him though. Did enjoy his films though which I went to with my OH.

And really enjoyed a visit to Memphis and Gracelands in the 90s.

Always a fan. Such a sad loss he died much to soon, but his music lives on. What a handsome man he was.

S,pose if I was a teenager in that era I would of been mad for him but I do think I would deffo been a Beatles fan and a mod, I would love to be able to jive as soon I hear the first cords of "jailhouse rock" my feet are going and admit to a few fool hardy attempts as said jives at family doo's with one of my sisters, infact at one wedding a few years ago I torn the seam right up the back of my dress jiving with my sister and turned to see my Mother doubled over clutching her stomach with tears rolling down her face laughing... :-D

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 9 Nov 2013 09:59

Strangely, even though born to be in that era and loving the music I never learned to jive and neither did my OH. :-(

I was never a big fan of his at the time - my younger sister was mad on him - but he was of the era and I must say I like him more now than I did at the time - I never got the hang of the jive either though believe me, I tried :-D :-D

Out of interest I wonder if we met Rollo, speaking face to face, he would say something like OMGFWITY?

I have to admit preferring to read plain English. :-D
