Serves you right for using the snipping tool, it's cheating & unfair to genuine buyers like myself & others. sorry if that offends but that's my view.

Don't understand your " cheating & unfair" comment? It's a computer tool -what's different from photocopying, scanning, C&p bits for reference, emailing etc.

I have great respect and awe for anybody who knows what a snipping tool is. I don't even have the confidence to use cut and paste. Don't know what 'tagged means either!

McB Report 24 Oct 2013 20:05

It's a tool that automatically bids in the last millisecond, Unfair full stop

Bids ?

Elizabeth2469049

Elizabeth2469049 Report 24 Oct 2013 20:21

McB - You seem to assume that it can only used at ebay or similar, I know nothing about that mechanism!
Sharron - I have used it for transferring bits like the more usuable jokes on here to emails - for copying strange comments that popup from browsers to show our computer guru - for other odd things when copy and paste doesn't seem to work. I only acquired it with Windows 7 a few months ago, I'd never heard of it before. I really can't see anything sinister about it, though perhaps there are some devious things in bidding which I can't even imagine!

Sharron, A snipping tool is for using on ebay, guarantee's to win an item.

Sharron Report 24 Oct 2013 20:26

I know nothing about e-bay.

There seem to be all sorts of things you can do on the internet that I have no use for, probably because I don't know they exist.

Bet I would need them desperately if I knew they were there.

Sometimes ignorance really is bliss.

This thing that puts in a bid for something at the last moment. There must be a lot of people using it so I can't really see that it gives much advantage.

Snipping tool is what I used an hour or so ago when I sent a image of a London marriage found on ancestry to a member on here by pm

Edit - As far as I am aware it has got nothing to do with ebay what so ever

Not that I have ever used ebay, but have used the snipping tool a lot to save things to my tree

How does that work on ebay McB If that's what the tool is being used for? :-S

McB

McB Report 24 Oct 2013 20:35

Haven't a clue how it works but i know it works, well I'm told it works, you can simply download it.

I've recently upgraded to Windows 7 and notice I now have a snipping tool. I don't have a clue what it's for, but I know when my son was demonstrating to me a while ago how to clean up photos, he said a snipping tool really helps.

Sharron, I have a photo of you which I could 'tag' you in on Facebook, so it appears on your status if you like :-D

Elizabeth2469049 Report 24 Oct 2013 20:47

I didn't even download it, it came with the package. Have it on the desk top, open the document you want to take something from - click the snipping tool Icon, draw a line round the bit you want - and there is a menu asking what you want to do with it.

None of this can be helping Noils from Harrogate can it!

As far as I can tell the snipping tool freezes the page your looking at and then you can snip any thing out on that page and save it.
I Sometimes freeze videos on Youtube and cut the desired picture out and transfer it as a JPeg into My Pictures folder ... Its a brilliant and versatile tool.

Sorry but I`m afraid I cant believe it has any effect in the running of deals on ebay. :-S

Snipe not Snip

Budgie Rustler

Budgie Rustler Report 24 Oct 2013 20:55

Nolls have you had a look in the options on the menu, there might be some thing in there .
I used to get a red line around the snips I cut out, went into options and changed the colour to white. :-)

Your correct jax, misread the first post,

Snipping as opposed to Snipeing

Grovel grovel.

Nooo, it will be that one off the ferry where I am giving you the benefit of my considered opinion.

I had a look on FB to see if I could see it.
