It was the OP Ann, I saw it had been RRd too.

Assuming that it was a genuine error, the main reason for this would be, I imagine, that members who are not familiar with how to access GR 'Support' via 'Help' might think this was the only way to get in touch?

It IS hard to spot the 'Help' option , as evidenced by a number of posters recently, new members usually, who have sought it for various reasons ( either for a direct contact email to admin or to access the FAQs etc) and it is not very clear where it is.

I have posted on the 'Suggestions' board that it be highlighted more effectively.

I agree with RRose - the help button and 'contact us' should be made much clearer - I can never remember where the 'contact us' is on the few occasions I use it.

I missed most of the hulabaloo earlier but am now concerned that whenever there is a difference of opinion between posters that Genes will remove the thread as it will (appear to ) be argumentative.......

Guinevere Report 12 Aug 2013 15:37

Pathetic way of dealing with it, isn't it?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 12 Aug 2013 15:39

What they should do is remove the argumentative posts, and censure the person/people who keep labouring a point to carry on the argument which makes the thread 'uncomfortable'.

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 12 Aug 2013 15:44

Absolutely Ann, I can't understand why they don't.

AnninGlos Report 12 Aug 2013 15:50

Great Jen. Hopefully everyone who added after me will also delete.

Yes - why don't they?

It could lead to some very boring threads - just imagine not daring to say you believe the opposite to a previous poster.

(Cor blimey this will lead to someone ruling the waves on here!!!!!!)

I think, if they haven't removed their posts by tomorrow Jude, maybe a PM requesting it. Some of them may not come on this thread.

The goings on this site never cease to amaze me, :-( I still dont see why the RRer of Sandies thread felt the need to contact GR what business was it of theirs the thread was lovely and it wasnt offending anyone, in time GR would just unstickied it .....

I have noticed how quiet it is on here yet again today, but can you blame people for not posting? Dare to disagree and you are hounded constantly and accused of being a cyber bully!!!!! Tipical behaviour of wums getting a taste of their medicine ;-)

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 12 Aug 2013 17:42

I got reported, Hayley. :-D

Only the second time in 10 years. First time was last week.

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 12 Aug 2013 17:44

In future Gwynn I will stay well clear of the wums thread let em talk to themselves ;-)

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 12 Aug 2013 17:51

You're probably right, Hayley.

But I find deliberate nastiness to others hard to ignore.
And stupidity is soooooooooooooooooo annoying.
As is hypocrisy.

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 12 Aug 2013 17:57

Yep I think a few of us do Gwynn * sighs* but you and I have seen a few of these come and go, and when they are totally ignored and cant cry bully or cease to get the attention they crave they soon pack up shop ;-)

Edit: You can not reason with stupid Gwynn ;-)

In my watched threads I have this which is part of someones post from a couple of years ago

Then there are those shout message posts PLEASE DONT POST ABOUT THE SAME PERSON TWICE with hundreds of posts attached with keep getting bumped up - what for. A reminder ocasionally is OK but as a closed post with no right to respond
%3A-%29 %3A-%29

I was wondering how a closed post would work if it wasn't stickied to the top

:-D :-D

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 12 Aug 2013 18:06

Too true, Hayley.

My wise old dad once told me I should never care about the opinions of those who are unworthy of respect.

And you're right - you can't reason with stupid.

;-)

The trouble is of course that if the WUMS just played with each other .... pause...one could avoid / ignore them as suggested by GR. But they sneak into otherwise pleasant threads, like wireworm infesting potatoes, and just about as palatable.

Good analogy, our Rose.
