Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 2 May 2013 06:45

He deserves to suffer for the rest of his miserable life but no doubt he will get support in prison because he seems to be trying to say he can 't remember so has mental health problems. I hope all the other prisoners will give him hell, let him know how it feels to be terrified and afraid. It won't bring poor little April back or ease her family's pain tho.
Rest in peace, little one

Let us express our utter detestation of anyone who mistreats children & keep talking more about family values.

Trouble is we cannot make people 'good' by Acts of Parliament.

I could not bring myself to read the article or indeed, anything further about this poor little girl. It is enough to know that what happened to her was horrific and I hope the evil man suffers for the rest of his life, in one way or another. BC XX

Up until the early 19th Century - the penalty of being sentence to be - Hung, Drawn, and Quartered, was still on the statue book, to gruesome to describe on here ;-)

I support capital punishment where there is no doubt of guilt, so, yes Emma, I'm with you.

*$parkling $andie* Report 1 May 2013 12:45

I'm with George on this one very very serious sad case !

If it had been my child I'd probably been in prison myself knowing the findings.

Prison would be too good for him.

My heart goes out the parents.. what ever his sentence...they have it forever.

Muffyxx Report 1 May 2013 11:35

I would want the abuser wiped off the face of the earth.

Without wishing to be indelicate......the knowledge that he would still be able to recall and enjoy memories of what he had done to my child would burn my soul. Locking him up just wouldn't be enough for me.

That's why I would push for the death penalty if evidence is 100% there.

OneFootInTheGrave

OneFootInTheGrave Report 1 May 2013 11:30

Emma, no disagreement from me either, I would support the use of capital punishment for any individual who is found guilty, beyond any doubt, from forensic and DNA evidence, of the brutal murder of a child.

no disagreement from me Emma

'Emma' Report 1 May 2013 11:01

I have to disagree with you on this Sue, if only they had a miserable
life behind bars but what is seen in the media and TV programmes
they do better than some imho.
When a dog attacks a human we put them down, this so called human
knew what he was doing.
In the past innnocents were hanged but I think with what is known nowadays
re DNA etc its very difficult to make those same mistakes.
Please everyone do not feel you have to shout me down on this matter, I respect
anyone's view which differs from mine, I would appreciate the same courtesy.

Why would anyone want him executed? A long totally miserable life behind bars would be so much better. April's parents have a life sentence so why not this dreadful person.

oh dear - what a shame - he'll be good company for the Philpotts

My heart goes out to April's family.

I agree GlitterBaby, most people will have an idea what has happened to April's body. My stomach turned after reading the details of the case.

Whatever sentence he gets will not be enough.

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 30 Apr 2013 22:12

Did read the article and I think most people will have an idea of what he did with her body.

What ever sentence he gets he will not be liked by other prisoners

In-human,,,,,,,,a total monster who deserves to die behind prison walls if hes found guilty,,,,,,,he cant remember because doing so will prove beyond any doubt,

the facts being given in court must be killing her family.

OneFootInTheGrave

OneFootInTheGrave Report 30 Apr 2013 17:01

I a not a great believer in capital punishment, however when I read about cases like this, I wish the death penalty had never been totally abolished, if he is found guilty he will probably end up in Broadmoor - methinks burnt at the stake would be more appropriate in this case.
