Rambling

Rambling Report 13 Mar 2013 14:17

March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb
the foods that I miss most these days are chicken
and some spam

April comes in like August and goes out like November
unless it's really bad and then it goes out
like December.

May would be quite nice, with flowers and with bees
but just about that time is the time I
start to sneeze.

June, July and August are tearful and distressing
I have to bathe my eyes a lot and use caution
when undressing.

September comes, I breathe again with nasal passage
clear, I'm really glad when Autumn comes. My favourite
time of year. :-D

Alright Miss ......here's one I did earlier (much earlier) :-0 :-)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Weekly Meet
---------------------
They stand in line together
United in their task
Being strong in their support
Is all that they could ask

Retelling of their efforts
Adding up all the points
Smiling oh so nervously
With trembling in their joints

The rules they have been studied
Desires to fulfil
Reaching for their personal goals
With determined strength of will

Meeting every week with hope
Team spirit can prevail
So fingers crossed and tums tucked in
They step onto the scale

Some members smile at their results
Others down in mouth:-(
But all agree whatever they do
Some things must go south

Now the team leader advises that
They remember what's at stake
To always think before they eat
Some naughty chocolate cake

But one thing to remember
When fighting off the flab
That while resisting food that's bad
Happiness is what you grab <3

'What's in a name?' the poet said,
well not a lot cos now he's dead
and though the world has not forgot
and venerates his burial plot
no more will Will aspire to be
the master of all poetry.
Succeeded by his fellowmen
and women adept with a pen
Shakespeare is now just history
and rhymes are down to you and me.
And whilst we don't have 'quite' his skill
we're still more lively than poor Will.
Who in his grave may turn and moan
( this poem prompts e'en me to groan!).
No matter that I'm trying hard
I might be better barred than Bard.

;-)

Stop gossiping Rose and get on with a poem!.....no rude ones or limericks.

And Mau and Merlin....and anyone else who can string a few words together that rhyme.

Mau and Merlin get on with writing
And you Rose.....something enlightening
Make us laugh or make us cry
make us wonder.....why? why? why?

Now, surely there is someone on the whole of GR who can do better than that :-D :-D :-D

Mauatthecoast Report 13 Mar 2013 13:59

Blimey what's the chances of that happening? sure you're not related Rose? could be a long lost relative or summat :-)

Rambling Report 13 Mar 2013 13:51

lol Mau, I get called lots of things :-)

funny really because the postman just knocked and asked if the name on the envelope was 'one of mine?' , different first name but my surname, which as you know is not that common. transpires that the lady 5 doors down( in a row of 10) shares my surname!

Merlin

Merlin Report 13 Mar 2013 13:50

Bring back the poetry threads is what I say. There used to be many members who were brilliant poets.

Come on Rose.....you start a poem
All about anything your knowin
But don't expect very much from me
I only do worse verse....as you can see
:-D

Know-It-Alls
by Gene Sanders

Let me tell you what would be a real treat:
A gathering of Know-It-Alls together at a meet
And with Know-It-Alls as far as you can see
Just think what the potential might come to be

Id' like to be there as a fly on the wall
To see the mayhem, bedlam, confusion and all
I can imagine them searching for a modest few
For anyone who's listen, to be repulsive to

It would be fun, but for them a great test
To find out just who is the biggest darn pest
And how long should such a meeting last?
Until all realized they are a pain-in-the-.........

Perhaps at meeting's end some few would see
How totally obnoxious a Know-It-All can be
