Huia Report 14 Sep 2012 21:51

What I used to think were fly spots I have since realised were actually made by spiders. So dont go blaming the flies for the spots all over the window sills.

Mau, the weta is an ugly looking brute, with saw teeth on his hind legs which he rears up to threaten you. I will have to see if I can find a photo to put on my avatar, but not this weekend, I have a lot to do.

When you put them outside they only come back in again - just like mice. Swat 'em - is best thing

When I woke this morning I gave my pillows a plump up and there fast asleep was the biggest spider. One of those that looks like it is on stilts :-S :-S.It looked very cosy too.Cheeky beggar. :-|It must have got a shock when I scooped it up in a great wad of loo paper and shook it out the window lol.
I still have conkers in the corners but think they must have lost their magic now :-S

Julia

Julia Report 14 Sep 2012 17:21

His coat is now finished Mau. The body and legs are all different colour, abit like Joseph's Coat, with a grey hood, because I am going to make him a Balaclava in Black, to enhance his thug-like character.
Island mentioned about not letting him starve. But if I feed him, he will pooh. What does spider's pooh look like ???
Perhaps you should be nicer to yours, and then they will leave you alone.LOLOL

Huia the Weta is a giant cricket/grasshopper type of insect I wouldn't be frightened of one of those.
It's the huge thick legged spiders I'm scared of :-|

How's the coat of many legs coming along Julia? and will it have a hood ;-)

All clear last night.... phew...just a teency weency one on the kitchen floor.I said good night and let him be :-D

Thinking of inviting Spiderman to stay ;-) :-D

Island Report 14 Sep 2012 11:17

That's a good idea :-D - as long as you give the spider the address. :-S

It isn't going to stay home and starve LOL

Julia, he might want to come back in. If he does, it will be impossible to keep him out.

You need to build him a little spider house, inside your house, so that he has somewhere to stay and won't get in your way.

Does anyone know how to built a spider house?

Or there any spider house kits out there?

Julia

Julia Report 14 Sep 2012 10:17

Julia

Julia Report 14 Sep 2012 10:06

Morning Island. Yes but how do you know he was a House Spider to begin with.

Anyway, it is very nice in my garden, so he may prefer it. LOLOL

PS. Anyway, if he is feeling"nesh" outside, I'll have to crochet him a coat of many legs.

Island Report 14 Sep 2012 10:01

Morning Julia and Huia

Julia, I hate to say this but a House Spider will not stay in the garden :-D

Huia

Huia Report 14 Sep 2012 09:56

Not that I have been bitten by one, but Ruud Kleinpaste, the bug man has. He lets wetas crawl over his face and even into his mouth (ugh). :-|
