Prickles Babes, pleas don't over cook them, it would be sacrilage

Just think BarbinGlos. If you had a little lamb and trained it to walk at heel and stay etc., you could be on the X Factor. LOLOL

Hiyah

Lamb used to be cheaper than beef but not now. It's very pricey and I haven't bought it for ages

Yes why is it that NZ lamb is cheaper.

Can I buy a baalamb for £5. Not to eat of course but as a pet . Teach it to walk to heel, sit and stay.Ah

Had a friend that had a huge garden and they kept 2 pigs from babies they even had names. Called round one day pigs in the freezer and was a long time before I ate pork again.

Wouldn't make a very good farmers wife would I.

Not going in to details from the lamb grazing on grass until it reaches the wholesaler..... the price paid at Smithfield Meat Market last week was £90 + per lamb .......so by the time these reach the shops after cutting and transport it does rise considerably. The price charged in restaurants for some cuts like best end is mind blowing !
Lamb from New Zealand travels by ship and is frozen ....so who knows how old it is ?

By the way should you be wondering how I know these details my Son-in-Law has had a wholesale meat business for over 25 years..................and yes, I enjoy all the best cuts of lamb ..... FREE !

I think the price of Lamb is outdacious(sp). Absolutely extortionate.
It is not as if the farmers are getting the price of a lamb, and how hill farmers anywhere, make a living farming sheep, is beyond me.
We eat lamb regularly, chops, leg, and shoulder, and over the years, it has always, in my opinion, been the dearest of the meats. Now, it is so much worse.
Having said all that, and I think there is nothing finer than lamb, I bought 2 fillet of beef steaks,on Saturday, to put away for a rainy day,you know, and they cost me almost £13.00.
I think someone somewhere is taking us, the consummers, for a ride.

when you think that here in Wales there are more sheep than people it's a ridiculous price - it's not as if you have to feed sheep - they just eat grass!!! Think you can buy a whole sheep alive for about a fiver - and how is it that lamb from NZ is cheaper than home produced??

On QVC today they are selling half a Cambrian Mountain sheep for just under £100!!!!
