>folk who insist on packing everything away before they then start looking for their purse and then pay>

Guilty as charged :-D

I don't always have a pocket, especially in summer clothes to pre-sort the CCard into, and there is no way I'm going to put it on view until I need to pay. So yes, most of the shopping gets packed before the card(s) get unearthed.

I do not get the folk who insist on packing everything away before they then start looking for their purse and then pay. Unable to multitask.

We always pack our own, that way the bread or other soft stuff does not end up under tins!!!! And we also use our own bags, I am amazed at just how many Yummy Mummy's never bring a bag with them, but then they have to take their shopping out to their Chelsea Tractors......

I decided in the week that the word which best describes my demeanour these days is Waspish - posted that on my FB page and I got some people who just did not get it....

Being one of the 'older' people I have to say I find Mum's and toddlers all shouting and screaming and running around your feet or (worse) sitting/standing in trollies more annoying than most older people. But easy to generalise and I bet my OH and I are quicker at packing our stuff into our (own) bags than many younger couples who seem to take for ever. And young women never seem to have their club card, credit card or money ready either.

We usually go on OH's rest day which rotate - but I will insist on going on a Thursday (when he is off) and I get so annoyed - lots of older people wandering aimlessly about.

I just want to get in get my stuff and get out as quickly as possible. And do not get me started on the changing of the layout of the store. Which is done to encourage shoppers to visit aisles they would not normally use. Moving the goods around does little to me except really pee me off!!!!!!

Rant over - I seem to get more annoyed with everything the older I get and usually about the silliest of things....

As I said we usually steer clear, although for some reason Friday is worse than the Saturdays we have been. We usually go Tuesday or Thursday.

Once I was in a position not to have to shop on a Saturday I steered clear.

What I do not get is the people who can shop any day they like yet still feel compelled to face the hordes (with their screaming children) on a Saturday - would NEVER go to a supermarket on a Sunday.

I HATE SHOPPING :-D

We don't normally do our weekly shop on Saturdays as we have time during the week. But with being away until Tuesday and other things happening we didn't have time this week so had to go this morning. You'd think it was Christmas or New year huge trolly loads, long queues. On the Saturdays we have been before it has not been half as busy, what is going on? Surely the Olympics can't affect it? Luckily as we approached the check outs they opened three new ones right where we were so didn't have long to wait. But some people the other end of the shop were queued a long way back.
