Meringue disaster!!!

Hello lovely GR friends :-)

I made meringues today........whisked the egg whites, added sugar, whisked again, folded in the rest of the sugar and baked them in my lovely new oven.

I got them out and they cooled,but looked a bit see through, but onward and upward...............I was so sure they would work this time!!!

On went the cream and the meringues fell to bits and sort of melted :-(

Oh well, the strawberries were good :-D

Well I have a lovely new kitchen now............with a double cooker thingy.

I haven't yet worked out how the grill works, so decided the old George Forman had to be dusted off.

Result.........raw sausages and fused socket!! :-S

In my old cooker, the grill was in the oven, and to turn it on, you had to turn the oven knob all the way round. past the oven temps to the little grill thingy picture on it.
