Island I don't think it matters really, I wasn't knocking the humour on here it was quite funny. But I think it is silly to insist on people not asking serious genealogy questions on chat. Unless they are look up questions which this wasn't.

I have the Adam family in my tree. Very old family lol

Furthest back I have is c1100 - my 27th great-grandfather (Gilbert de Colvyle) - I don't have documents, got the dates from history books.

Ann I am back to 1629 and same of you due to a distant cousin and Joy wow 1512 is really good I am rubbish at searching and finding out the who and where but once I find out the names and places I go in depth to find out what sort of house they lived in the jobs and what it involved I love knowing where I have come from trouble is no one else in my family cares or is interested so dont have anyone to share it with when I tell them something I think is really good or interesting I get a blank look lol

Huia Report 1 Jun 2012 07:57

With a couple of my lines I went back to about 1650, but before that the Parish records were in Latin and the letters were very tiny and a bit different from the usual letters. I decided it was too much like hard work trying to read it. Some of my other lines I am back to about 1800 or a little earlier. More work to do one day. If not for me, then for another family member.
