Stray.... Didn't think we would be considering getting the fleece out again :-(

Hope your seedlings are Ok :-)

StrayKitten Report 4 Apr 2012 19:53

haha yes lolly, we probably will, if our storm last night is anything to go by brrrrrr

Joy........No I don't suppose many would and last time the restrictions were in there was not a single prosecution, so pretty ineffectual anyway

Personally I would rather have water for washing, cooking and flushing than worry about using a hose :-)

My water butts are full and the grass will recover eventually.

Knowing our fickle weather we will probably end up with the wettest of summers

:-( :-(

i would never report mine they are diamonds
and why spoil our wonderful relationship

StrayKitten

StrayKitten Report 4 Apr 2012 19:34

luckily it doesnt effect me, and i use the water from my water butt for my seedlings anyways,

but i agree it should be for all, if there is one in place,
i wouldnt grass my neighbour up if i seen them using one

and what the punishment if they do use there hose? x

StrayKitten

StrayKitten Report 4 Apr 2012 19:27

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 4 Apr 2012 19:26

and who would grass a neighbour up if they used their hose pipe
not many i guess

LollyWithSprinklez Report 4 Apr 2012 19:16

Stray ... I can only imagine because disability would make it harder to use a watering can!!

It rained heavily here yesterday and overnight, with a couple of light showers
today, still my neighbor was out watering with his hose to "beat the ban"
:-( :-S Doh!!

under Exemptions on the site below

people with severe mobility problems who hold a current Blue Badge as issued by their local authority will not be prohibited from using a hosepipe to water a garden attached to a domestic dwelling, plants on domestic premises, or allotments where the Blue Badge holder is the tenant

This morning on radio said that if you have an irrigation system and it is for food crops you can still use.

Southern Water begins 5 April. Mind you we had THREE showers of rain yesterday but barely dampened the soil.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 4 Apr 2012 15:10

apparently they all have different exemptions.

Fortunately we don't have a hosepipe ban as yet.

ChrisofWessex

ChrisofWessex Report 4 Apr 2012 15:09

If you are registered as a Blue Badge holder or can therefore prove you are disabled, the hosepipe ban will not apply to you.

This is from Southern Water. Worth checking other water boards.
