Exactly Ann, I think there are a lot who don't realise that! They think it would be a rise for all pensioners!

Yes but the £140 is for new pensioners, it is not for those already on a pension.

They´re banking on the fact that there will be another election before the pension changes come into force & that if they don´t mention it, we will forget.
I have heard it said that the pensions will have reached the 140 pounds level anyway by 2016.
I wish.
There´s a difference between what they pay us & what we end up with as disposable income.

Do the government realise how many pensioners are, or were, the people who voted for them? And what about when the new pension rate eventually comes in and existing pensioners don't get it? :-S

Signed.
What amazes me is how few people have realised what´s behind it all.
The Government was forced to raise pensions in line with inflation in October, when it was standing at 5.3 %.
As the rise doesn´t come into effect until next month & inflation has fallen, they have realised that they can´t change it now, so have devised another means of getting some of the money back.
What they fail to realise is that pensioners have been coping with high inflation since April 2011 & are merely playing catch up.
Wonder why they haven´t thought of a way of getting money back from benefit claimants whose entitlement will rise by the same percentage next month.
Because pensioners are sitting ducks.!!!!
