Morning Scozzie
Jif is plastic lemon containing concentrated lemon juice, but we also get it in bottles.
I like my cream cheese spread on bread, with boiled ham on top. Or, if making a ham salad, I spread the slice of ham with the cream cheese and roll it up. I like a few grapes and strawberries with my salad.

PS. Meant to say, I would think 1/2 a Jif is about 1 1/2 tablespoonsful

Real lemon juice ......Or I could use the bottled stuff.

We get bottles of "lemon juice" at the supermarket, they hold about 250 ml / 8 fl oz

I know it's 1 pint milk (full cream) and lemon juice.............but not how much

In Australia it's a cleaning product, don't fancy that. :-)

Yes I know Merlin, but I don't wear tights. The knee-highs that I do wear, I also use for suspending over a bucket of water, with a mixture of Comfrey,Nettle and Six X, to make a liquid feed for the Tomatoes. Of course, I don't wear them again afterwards. LOLOL

my littleman wont eat choclate spread, or hot chocolate, or chocolate biscults, or chocolate cakes, in fact no cakes at all, and not very many biscults, lololol,

Julia, Tights are good for straining things,and good for using as a Fanbelt on a car if one breaks. :-D

Hi All, I agree with Sharron it would be good on or in a cake.
Lavender, yes it would be healthier for children than choc spread. It's that I just could not fancy it, myself.

They were doing taste testing in the local T*. I had to be coaxed into sampling the new choccy philly, I just didn't fancy it at all.

I was pleasantly surprised that it was very good, my daughter thought it amazing and bought some individual trays of it. Thought that it would be good for children as an alternative to choc spread, much healthier. :-)

oooooh Cream Cheese!

My favourite sandwich - lotsa cream cheese, kiwi fruit, dried apricots & walnuts......... sounds weird, but it's yummerful.

I'm the only one in this house who eats cream cheese (noses turn up at my sandwich - call me a hippy lol )

iv seen mixed reviews on FB about it, but i cldnt even try it haha x

I would think that chocolate Philadelphia might make an acceptable topping for a cake.

Don't fancy that chocolate one at all. I love my philly - just plain with bananas in a sandwich or philly and ham on top of a jacket pot.

Thanks Rita and Sharron. I know what you mean Rita. There is only the two of us, but we both like cream cheese, especially when the OH has pulled fresh beetroot from the allotment and I have boiled it. Very scrummy with salt and pepper on. And we both like cheese cake.
Sharron, thanks for that method. We also like cottage cheese, so either way, I am onto a winner, with your recipe and method.
The other week, I was in the chemist, waiting for my shipping order of tablets and morphine, to be got ready. Wandering around the shop, I noticed they sold Muslin Bags, for brewing, so I bought one for when I am making things with all the fruit off the allotment, this summer. It will now come in handy for cheesemaking. I also knew you could use the whey for scones, so will have a go at that also
