credit card debt is the worse, iv had it twice, first time dad bailed me out " i was young n stupid BUT did pay him back" the secod time i was just very stupid, but sorted it by getting the intrest froze,
but lesson learn and i will never ever have a CC ever again,

if i need somthing i save up, in my credit union.
if its smthing little i ask the old folk,

the credit union, which is a fab way to save they do very very low intreest loans, so rather than draw out your svaings you can get a loan against ya savings, so if do struggle to pay it bak ya can just transfer the amount owed over from your saved money :-D :-D

Yeah it's horrible isn't it......i hated it and wish i could say we did ours through necessity...but we didn't...we were just daft....but never again.

I have cc debt Muffy, it's very hard going lol, mine came from renovating the house and was all essentials that cost more than I hoped like the roof and electrics. but at least it is a home that has cost rather than un-necessary 'luxuries' :-D

I borrow at the 'bank of Dan' lol, he would rather I did and paid the interest to him than to the bank :-D

Well a few years back Joy we got ourselves into terrible problems with credit card debt.........which we DID manage to pay off but as a consequence I have a real deep rooted fear of using them so Dad said if ever I'm short of something then he'd lend it to me interest free rather than walk down that route again.

I try not to do it too often ...but it's usually bleeding cars that are my downfall when they go wrong !!! x

Joy my best friend offered me some cash just before one of my house moves just to help tide me over and pay costs etc, and I did borrow it, but as soon as the sale money hit my account it was back in hers as she knew it would be, (and I would have known she would do the same in reverse situation) .

If my friend were in need Id give them my last penny. I'd never see anyone I care about suffer if I could help.

I've been offered loans off friends in the past but managed to cope without having to take them up on it...I'd only really do that as a last resort and it goes without saying the second I could pay them back I would.

What annoys me is when I've seen folk borrow money from friends...yet still go on holiday/nights out....before they pay it back.........makes me mad that does....priorities all wrong there I think.

I always pay back my debts and pay my way....not honouring a debt is not in my nature whoever I borrowed it from x

i dont owe anybody anything
i pride myself on the fact

i think people who dont pay their friends back
dont deserve their friends at all

"Neither a borrower nor a lender be;
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry. " (Polonius in 'Hamlet' by Shakespeare )

I was watching the one show last night and it featured a lady who had sent money to a man she met on the internet, followed another case that was on my local news recently. Not quite the same scale or circumstances of course, but do you ever loan to friends?

Have you ended a friendship because you didn't get the money back or did you write it off as a price to pay to keep the friendship? Would you ever ask a friend to lend you money or if they offered to would you be a prompt payer lol.

Or if you take a loan out from an official source, bank etc do you consider it as important to pay it back as you would to a friend? ( thinking here of those schemes where your debts are written off, would that sit well with you? or do you believe a debt has to be paid regardless of how long it might take?) .
