I love bread & butter pudding, especially the one my sister in law makes with marmalade & whiskey.
I also love any type of milk pudding & porridge & suet puddings, although the waistline won´t allow them these days.
My dad always had custard on his pudding, no matter what it was & he was also very partial to ice cream with Cornish clotted cream on it & had cream & custard on his Christmas pudding.
No wonder he had coronary artery disease.

Bread and butter pudding and custard , especially the skin, are delicacies in their own right. They gain nothing in combination. The eggs in the pudding make it custardy anyway.

You can't buy sago as such in english shops but I think it is available under another name in Asian shops.

My grandfather had a milk pudding every day of his life and, whatever it was made of, rice, macaroni, tapioca, he always called it a rice pie so, of course that is what we call it now.

t seems you can't buy flaked rice anymore.

one for me is drugs, especially hard drugs, i mean, we all know what they do to our bodys, why would people "try" them, knowing what the outcome would be :-\

I love bread & butter pud with clotted cream - and lots of it!

I must confess there wasn't much I didn't enjoy about my school dinners.

Mince, dumplings, those flat square mince pies (especially the middle portions) with lashings of gravy and on Fridays baked fish with buttery mash - and all with vegetables of course.

Tapioca (frogspawn), and lovely semolina with rosehip syrup, Friday's ginger or chocolate puds with white sauce -

bring them all back!

For me it is skiing, for the life of me I cannot understand my people want to put lots of layers ON for a holiday, get a lift up a ski slope then slide down on 2 long bits of metal.

Wend

Wend Report 21 Feb 2012 20:16

I agree with that, ZZzzz, not my idea of a holiday at all.

Can't understand why so many women enjoy playing tennis either. I can think of far more interesting ways to get exercise.

Love bread n butter pudding though :-D

I agree Zzzzzz to me a holiday is a luxury treat, you save hard for 2 weeks of bliss after slaving away for the other 50 weeks a year. Sleeping in a tent isnt in my mind a treat.
