Just looked in on my family tree, The new format is dreadful.....please give me back the old one. Why 'fix' something if it isn't broken? :-( :-( :-(

I couldn't access Genes Reunited this morning.....only way I could get in was by clicking on the email advising me that I had a message.
What has happened? :-(

I hate it.

I don't understand why we do not have the choice whether to continue with the old one if we want to.

Plus, I may be a bit thick here, but how do we get from the tree to the boards?

I had to X out, and get back onto GR to come onto the dropdowns.

Not impressed at all.

:-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

this new system is you say Bryan riddled with faults, just tried adding children and I entered the name and birth place, but when I got down to marriage details, it had her parents marriage details there..........

Hello Bryan,
Thank goodness for you! Bless you!
I have seen some of the info on the new tree and didn't think it would help and totally agree that we needed to retain the previous tree, which is much nicer on the eye.. and much easier to find relatives and save their info.
Do you think they will allow another way to find out how to do this, please?
Kindest regards,
Bryan

It's a disaster and riddled with faults. Adding new siblings sometimes results in them appearing in duplicate. Details of one sibling are automatically added to existing siblings, overwriting existing data. It's possible, by accident, to enter a parent as being younger than his/her child - and the system won't allow it to be deleted. Husband's data appears in the wife's section and vice versa.
All this was discovered during my first foray into the new Tree Builder. It obviously hasn't been properly and thoroughly tested. Any sensible organisation would have run both systems in parallel for a lengthy period in order to identify and iron out the inevitable glitches. Genes Reunited also failed to give adequate warning of the implementation date. Altogether entirely unsatisfactory. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-| :-| :-| :-|

Hi Folks,
I'm sorry to have to have a moan about the new format of my tree and confess that I find it not only really ugly but also cumbersome - and I really wouldn't like to see my ancestors shown as they are at the moment.... Please can you put it back? And soon?
I can understand that folks new to GR may find it helpful, but for those of us who have been researching on GR (via FMP - sorry) for several years now and am absolutely capable of finding my ancestors.
Could this be put back for those who are comfortable with what they had until today and leave the rest for folks who need direction?
Would welcome your thoughts...
Jayne. :-(
