The new tree is dreadful. I suggest that the people who are not having problems are not attempting to add multiple people - all of the problems described above are also happening to me. I cannot align children with the right parents (what happened to the Change Parents button?) and the side screens come up with the previous person's data. It's horrible - and not just a case of getting used to something new, it doesn't work!!

Suggest everyone does as I have done and use the Feedback button every time something isn't working properly. Whether it makes any difference or not remains to be seen.

Everything you want to do is taking twice as long

matches you have to click then again for record/tree matches

Everything about is so frustrating had to leave it and go for a coffee to calm down :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

Am tearing my hair out.
Have just tried adding a sibling, and it is out of date sequence, and only attached to the father.
Its difficult to negotiate, please bring the other one back, there was nothing wrong with it .

I detest it.

I opened the sliding tab to add some information in the "Known as" box which I did and saved. I then went to another relative and discovered that the information for that relative had been overwritten with what I had just added for the other person !!!! This had happened to more than one relative :-|

It is riddled with errors, temperamental and from a cosmetic point of view messy and ugly.

I filled out the "Feedback" form and it hung the system saying "cannot load tree" which I wasn't trying to do and this happened twice.

Am very concerned with what information I may lose. Angry that I cannot add new information I have.

I, with everyone else, want the old (and safe) format back.

Sarah :-| :-|

PS: I had no idea there was going to be a change to the format.

Do you think the development people (cannot use the term Team) have got the message?

Phillip

Phillip Report 20 Jan 2012 12:29

the main complaint i have is that a lot of the dates have been lost the year is in but actual dates have been lost
i wanted to just check when father in law died last year and date has gone just shows 2011

Phillip

Phillip Report 20 Jan 2012 12:18

why has there been aa change of tree
has there been any problem with the last 10 years
it wasnt broke why fix it

or are we just paying for somebody to justify their job?

Cannot use date format of Jan/Mar1900 not enough spaces to do so. When adding children the parents details have appeared at the bottom and also any notes have been transfered from somewhere else. What is the silly zoom in and out bit for? I liked the fact that all the persons details were there when you clicked on a person and not having to click on a silly button to see them and click again to get rid of it.

I think it would have been nice to have been asked if we were unhappy with the old format rather than having this thrown at us with no warning.

Lets go back to the old one please.

Winge over, I know relly they won't change back.

Bob. :-(

Why has information and photo's vanished? For instance I had my Grand parents marriage on the old tree, its not on this awful new tree.

There are now guidelines on how to use the tree both on Announcements and on the Home Page under Activity Alert.

OK - just added to my tree and I had no problems. I added a second marriage for my maternal great grandmother and it was easy.

I'm sorry some people are having problems but so far - for me - it's fine.

This new tree is a complete disaster for me and if it wasn't for the good work by the rest of the site I would desert.

At least, as is being suggested, give us the choice to continue using the previous tree format.

Yes and I'm now having trouble with relations in the wrong spot too. How did that happen ?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 20 Jan 2012 04:45

I haven't tried to add relations yet but I've been playing around with the new tree and I rather like it.....sorry :-\

Barbara Report 20 Jan 2012 02:39

Have just tried adding relations and their details to my tree and found access SO HAYWIRE. Trying to add marriage details does not link up properly and why do names appear in duplicate it is a PAIN having to delete and start again/ The old way is best.

There is a feedback button on your tree - you could use that for your comments

It is just below your name in the top left hand corner of your screen.
